ive got and edge cs and normally driving around my coolant temp is 188 and oil is within a few degrees this weekend i was towing my trailer (about 5k) and my temps were around 194 and oil about 8 higher. i was stopped on a dirt road for about 45 min and my coolant went up to 210??? it has never done this before so i thought blew a HG i checked and no puking with no loss of coolant and driving the 2hrs back with the trailer the temps were normal. any ideas on why they climbed so high idling? btw the truck is an 03 with exhaust, and vivians tow tune.

Any insight?

Tim

I've been told that 188 is an indication of a sticky thermostat, and that we should be sitting at 190. I bought a new Motorcraft unit, but I haven't taken time to put it in yet, I will soon since its warming up now.

i can look into that but my truck idling has NEVER gotten to 210 the only times i see temps that high is when im towing my swamp buggies that are 13.4 high and about 7k lbs. i just thought it was odd that it did that.
