Any body know of someone on the east coast that can help me out with converting a long bed to a short bed? :dunno:

I will aslo be looking for some performance upgrades as well, turbo, injectors, fuel pump, studs, tunes ya the whole 9:icon_ford:

Any good fab shop should be able to shorten your frame to accept a short box. Then you need a new drive shaft, shorten the exhaust, the brake line and parking brake cable and you should be good to go.

I can't remember who it was but there was a company out there doing those exact conversions. I'd love to have one as a toy.

Halla's performance built a few. I got quotes for $1000-$2000 just to cut and weld the frame. You will also need a short bed fuel tank. I am about to cut mine this week. Got a welder to come out to weld it charging $225. Most expensive thing I have bought so far was the bed at $800.

Jamztoys had a white one, 2 wheel drive. I seen a red 05 single cab short bed 4x4 on ebay a while back, it sold for 15k

that is a long haul but maybe if i go home on leave i could do it depending on how long it would take them. i am originally from melboune, fl which is about 2.5 hrs away from tampa.

This title caught my eye. I used to want one of these too. I've seen some photos of them, they are around if you look for them. You will need to shorten the frame. Then you will need new brake lines, driveshaft and also the standard 38 gallon fuel tank is too big, you will need to go to the 29 gallon fuel tank from a short box. It's a decent amount of work, but can be done.

I personally wanted to do a 4x4 with bushwacker cutouts front and rear, and some 41" tires. Woulda looked so cool.

it sure can be done i just need to get ahold of the right ppl to do it and not charge me an arm and kid:lol2:

I would rock that red one hard...... But there would have to be a color matching Shelby on the back of it! :)

All you guys and wanting short beds. Am I crazy for wishing I had a long bed?

That's why I like my shortbed, I just tell people "It's a shortbed, I can park in the compact spaces"

Here are some pics of shortening the frame:
