Running lights?...are these on the mirror, roof, fenders? Not enough info.

What year and model truck, SRW/DRW?

no those would be marker lights, I am talking about in the rear tail light, the running lights or some call them park lights, the first click on the light switch. so at night I have no light in the back unless I hit the brakes or signal.

its a 2014 f350 SRW

thanks

Have you checked fuse 30 in the BCM?

Here are the schematics. The first one is just to show you there is no physical connection/wire from the switch to the lamps. The switch sends a signal over the CAN Bus to the BCM to energize the Park Lamp Relay. The relay sends power to the park lamps via two circuits. Fuse 30 is in the circuit that seems to be giving you problems. Unless, you have no park lamps anywhere on the truck such as the mirrors or roof clearance lights.

Hope this helps you solve your problem...

if I am reading those right the licence plate lights are on the same circuit as the rear marker lights, the licence plate lights are working so not sure what to look at now. I did check fuse 30 under the hood.

thanks

the BCM fuse 30 is located in the right hand kick panel area. It is not the same one as under the hood.

On the driver side rear, check to see if connector 465 is damaged or unpluged. Connector 465 connects the tail lights to the parking lamp circuit.

sorry yes I checked that one, I was thinking about the one for the trailer lights under the hood.

I did pull apart one connector and found a bit of blue/green corrosion on i.t it had 2 larger wires on each end then two rows of 4 in between you wouldn't happen to have a pin out of that connector would you, I did have two pins hot when I had my park lights on and I assumed that one was power supply to the trailer and the other was the park lights but may have been others now that I think about it.

thanks

Ya that's the plug I found the corosion on post 8 I think and in the female side. Weird, guess I need to figure out how to test that now to see if it is the actual problem ... now that I think of it, it may be post 9 which is the ground, which would make more sence.

ok thanks for the help with the diagrams Larry, it seams a rock or something must have hit the connector and broke a chunk out of that power wire socket allowing it to corrode. I have bypassed it for now and when it is a little warmer I am going to replace the whole connector.

thanks for the help
Steve
