Hello,

New here, new to diesel. My Dad needs his used (bought it second hand) Ford F350 diesel Super Duty, 6.0L OHV Diesel V8 maintained.

He is close to Power Stroke Magic in Cypress and we read that a representative/owner from PSM posts on here.

Or, if you have alternate recommendations for

We tried calling the store but never got a call back, supposedly the tech was out.

If anyone knows Power Stroke Magic's username then please shout out to him.

Thank you

Why only Powerstroke Magic? I am out of the Conroe area and know of several good diesel shops around. Are you part of Houston Diesels?

@UR2EZ I called and spoke to a tech, and he said they can do a PPI...is that what needs to be done?

This car is owned and being used by my dad for the last 2-3 years, it has no known issues, but we want to make sure it is functioning well and there are no unknown issues.

Is it better to speak with Mr. Dorian directly?

Thank you

Yes, that is what you want done. You don't need to speak to Dorian directly. Just let them know whatever you are wanting done and they will take care of you. They are very good and knowledgeable.

Hello,
@UR2EZ

Here is the service the tech recommended, which of these do you feel are necessary and which are basic mechanic DIY (without a lift, but he has tools), we can ask a friend to help my dad.

1) Air Filter missing 3 clips

2) Belt has cracks

3) Fuel filters recommended every 10k miles

4) Rear End Axle Seals Leaking - Reseal Rear Hubs/Axles

5) Rear Differential Service

6) Transmission service recommended - Tech feels it has never been touched

7) Transfer case service - if not done recently

The vehicle is at the shop, so we will give a go ahead for all/select recommended items based upon your feedback.

Thank you

All of it can be done fairly easily and without a lift but if you don't have a lot of experience, I would say just have them do the rear seals. You should be able to find plenty of videos on YouTube about changing out the rest yourself and it will save you some money. The other stuff is pretty simple, won't require you to lift the truck or anything, and can be done with simple tools. If you just got the truck, I would definitely change the oil, new air filter, fuel filters, trans service, diff service, and transfer case service just so you know where it all stands. Most of that stuff is only done every 60k miles; minus the oil, air, and fuel filters.
