Between this Forum and my diesel tech guru/friend..I have been lead to believe 2 things: the veins of the turbo are "dirty" AND I have been "babying" my '08 F450 6.4 w. 62K miles, towing 42-foot ToyHauler, loaded. I can delete my code on my BlackMaxx tune, yet a few 100 miles later, it comes back on.
Is there a fuel additive to clean the veins? Do I need to R&R it AND what/how do I clean them. Is it the easy turbo to remove OR the other one? Thank in advance. Johnny in Colorado.

Monitor ebp... What does it read key on engine off? What does it read at idle? What does baro read?

Generally its a bad ebp sensor but check the wiring leading to your vgt actuator, it is very possible that there is damaged wiring.

Thank you Crazy SOb (love your handle, btw). Sorry to bother you, but am I able to monitor the ebp via my BlackMaxx. If so, can you help me thru that. I have replaced the ebp sensor. Also put carb cleaner down the tube with a piece of piano wire, hoping to eliminate any chunks of carbon. I assume "baro" means barometer. Can I put that info up on my tune monitor screen? Will google vgt actuator for location and wiring . My Ford dealer acted confused when I mentioned a possible faulty vgt actuator . Happy Easter. Johnny in Colorado.

The vgt systems rarely go south on a 6.4... More often than not we see damage to the connectors and wiring. The hp turbo itself is known to fail quite often, but the vgt components generally aren't as much of a problem.

I don't remember exactly what the MiniMaxx and BlackMaxx reads ebp as but I know you can. And to answer your question from the original post, the cab has to come off to remove the turbos on these trucks. Its a huge pita.

Thank you...again:))) I kind of thought cab removal was necessary, which, as you say, is a true PITA. Out of my range of skills @ my age. Will do some internet research and see what H&S has to say about my BlackMaxx monitor. Happy Easter. Johnny

Check you ebp sensor. I had that code along with a 132b and ended up being my ebp sensor

I originally tried "cleaning" that sensor to no avail. Finally replaced it. Code went away for awhile. R&R my new EBP sensor, carb cleaner down the tube, Q-tip inside sensor, electronic spray on wiring connectors, cleared codes via my BlackMaxx. Not my daily driver, so won't know anything until mid April when I leave w/ toyhauler for TX. Seems like a lot of gurus are tapping their block-off plate and relocating that sensor. Not sure how that helps, but maybe worth a try. I have a full delete except for OEM muffler. Thank you Chandler for the post:))
