I first had a problem with these codes a month ago after i towed about 12k 500 miles round trip with no problems. When I got home and unhooked the trailer the truck would continously slam in and out of gear when in reverse and went into a high idle. So i parked the truck and the next day returned the tuning to stock started it up and everything seemed normal. Drove it for about a week with no issues with stock tuning. So i loaded my favorite race tune and daily drove it with the occasional wot for 3 weeks no issues once again. Then i went to hook to a trailer and the problem came back (the continuous slamming and high idle). It seems to do it only when in reverse for an extended period of time such as hooking a trailer by yourself. I replaced the direct drive solenoid and have looked for chafed wires. My 3-5 shifts flare a little when the transmission is still learning but other than that no forward problems. Does anyone have any insight of what to look for?

With the issues you're describing and the fact that it seems pretty intermittent (minus the reverse) it sounds like a broken wire or a solenoid going bad. Those codes are dealing with the main pressure control solenoid, NOT the direct drive solenoid. The only other kicker is that the direct drive solenoid does control the reverse shift too, so double check everything there.

It's easily doable by yourself, but you gotta drop the pan and you gotta drop the valve body. Here's a good video for it (gotta love youtube lol). There's links in the comments below for the valve body gasket, torque specs, and torque sequence.

Thanks for the reply nighthawk. I had i little time to tinker with the truck tonight. I have found when the rf tire is lifted just a little (pulling into the driveway) my issue starts. Which makes sense as where my trailer is parked it is not level. I have looked over all wiring from the pcm to the transmission and nothing is in a bind, chafing, sliced, etc. I can only get it to act up when the transmission is up to full operating temp. This seems odd as it only takes 4-5" of jacking up the rf tire and only does it when hot. Which does not seem like much for truck that is so long (ccsb).

About 2 months ago i did the 08 pan fliter and the modified dd solenoid. I reused the fluid as it only had about 14k miles on it. The fluid looked and smelled like new. I double filtered the fluid before i put it back in. This past weekend i put the stock solenoid back in hoping that would fix it. While in there i looked over only the wires going into the solenoids.

If you've gotten it to a point that you can MAKE it have the issue like with the jack, the best way to help diagnose would be to install a pressure gauge in the test port and see what it's doing while the trans is slamming. The gauge would have to go up to 350psi, I don't remember what the threads are in the test port. If it's holding pressure while the problem is happening I'd look back at the DD solenoid. If the pressure is fluctuating pretty dramatically, it's most likely the main pressure control (discounting large debris in the system or failing mechanicals).

When cruising say at 65mph and the tc locked it will unlock just briefly and then lock back up. Similar as unlocking the tc by touching the brake pedal but it only unlocks for a brief second. It has been randomly doing this for a few months but did it a lot tonight otw home. Usually it locks up smoothly but a couple times it has slammed when locking. Does not matter the tuning
