So I bought an XLT which doesn’t come with the really cool LED headlights.

My brother-in-law works at a body shop that’s able to get parts at dealer cost, so I’m wondering if I could replace the entire headlight assembly on my XLT with an OEM LED assembly.

Supernova makes something that would work, but it’s $1,750 and I’m not even sure that’s for both headlights. I’m betting (hoping) dealer cost on the OEM LED headlight assembly would be cheaper. If I ordered the OEM assembly, must I also order the LED bulbs separately or do all bulbs come with it?

Bulbs are in the housings, it’s a sealed unit. You’ll need the connection ballast also to run them. There are of threads on other sites on how it’s done, especially on F150 which is a pain as you have to take the whole front of truck off.,

Housings on Superduty much easier to change out, I added Anzo to my truck, was simple. Next truck will have LED, wife’s 150 has them and they are awesome

Yeah, I’ve been looking at the Morimoto headlights, and I’m seriously considering them. I was hoping to price out the OEM parts I’d need and see how much more I’d have to pony up for the Morimotos. I’ve seen their video with them claiming their light output far exceeds OEM, and that is intriguing but I still want to know how much more I’d have to pay to get that over OEM (based on dealer cost which I can get via my brother in law).

Ford's prices on the 2019 assemblies are $1,367.23 each for the left and right sides individually. I think the 2017 lights are a couple hundred less. I imagine they are available for less wholesale, but probably not enough less to make it a better value than aftermarket. FWIW, I have the Morimoto retrofit LED's on my 2007 and they are so superior to stock that I will probably never have halogen lights again.

eBay has a pair of oem led lights for $1830.00 plus $113.00 for the ballast. IÂ’m not sure what else you would need to convert over to them.

For that price, I’d probably buy the Morimoto, especially if the EBay listing is for a used set.

I was hoping maybe the dealer cost for OEM LED was like half the cost of Morimoto, or a little more.

Been eye balling those since yesterday. Nice chunk off change.
