Alrighty, im having some alignment issues and im being told i need bigger castors and shims to get where i need to be. I took the picture below at the alignment shop so i could post it up here. As you can see, my right side is frigged up big time. my left side is almost perfect. yes, the truck at one point was wrecked but everything was replaced 100%. tell me what yall think i need to do as far as shims and castors go!

Check your ball joints, I got one phone call stating that I needed caster shims, then another correcting himself that the ball joints on that side were bad.

Agreed.. check your ball joints but your castor in ideal conditions should be around 5* positive. I know this is OVER ford specs but u will be happy u did. I think u can get these shims from SPX? but let me see if i can dig u a pic. ICON sells them also. Contact Cary at CT Performance and he should be. Able to get them for ya.

EDIT..... SPC is the name.

He is my buddy and were trying to get this figured out. Yes his does have radius arm drop. Brackets but its a 4" lift with 2" spacers. So that's prolly why the drops aren't fixing it all the way. The problem is, we can't find anywhere that knows how to align these trucks. My castor isn't right either but mine are wearing fine. I don't have castor shims at all. He has castor shims and no one knows how to adjust them and all that. When he bought the truck, the tire was leaning in. So I spun the castor shim to straighten out the tire in hopes of saving the tire but its pulling still and they say that it needs more castor. Only thing I can think is to take the spacers out and see if that and taking the castor shims out helps it after getting it aligned. . But Im just guessing.

And I think his driver side upper ball joint is bad and that's not even the tire that's bad. It's got a wiggle that we noticed rotating his tires and the ball joint nut and castor shim is tight so I don't know. :dunno:

will they know what to do about the castor shims?

well thats all we have around here lol. we asked tire discounters the first time about castor shims and they said they have never heard of them :dunno:

Take it to a shop and get an alignment and then get correct cams. Or get adjustable ones and have them installed while they do it..

I had it aligned with my tire rotation a few weeks ago ans they gave me a print out. I didn't even look at it....they said it needed shims and I threw the sheet in the console.

soo anyways, what do u think i need to do to get my stuff right?

Because you have spacers with the lift it's like adding a leveling kit for a stock truck, you need to do a 3 link/ 4 link set up or add the icon cams or take out the spacers to get the caster back to where you need it. thats really the only way to go about fixing it and find a shop that knows what there doing even if you have to travel to do that.

do you think just the icon cams will fix my problem? i do already have some cams in there but im not sure if they are bigger or smaller than the icons

largest castor change I've seen are 2.5*, just use them takes 10 min a side and your done.
Except when your me and the ear on the shim snaps off.... and yes i did take the nut off, i took the picture after i gave up for the day. Ive been soaking it in penetrating oil every few days for months now. I hope to get it out with an air hammer and a chisel or something.
