Max Safe boost on stock motor

I was told that 6.0 liters can lift the head with just a programmer. I was wondering if this is a problem with the 7.3. I was planning on adding a DP tuner chip, but don't want to have head gasket problems.

What is the max safe boost on a stock motor?

Thanks

i think its like u good up to 35 or 40 psi on a 7.3 but that will take sticks (injectors) or a turbo maybe even both u will be fine with even some more mods than the dp,,, but im sure some ppl will come along and talk u into gettin a tw tony wildman chip i have no exp with them but they say they are the best...

Not an issue, you have to be buidling some serious ponies!! Above 400 I would be looking for head studs.
The stock turbo shouldn't be pished past 25 psi and you won't push it much over that without serious moding. I pull 25-26 lbs with my mods at WOT.

I'm maxing at 25-26psi with my mods. That's at WOT and at higher speeds though. It shifts at about 21, then at like 70 and up it'll go to 25 or 26 mashing it.

I know 103psi will split a 7.3's block and break/bend about everything but the cam :hehe: Anybody else see that thread?

I made 30 on stock...and haven't found out on the wildman yet

5.6k and the fooler, and the wastegate delete primarily. :thumb: The 10k only got me 18 psi sadly.

i make my turbo out at like 32 lol, but ive got sticks and turbo and no studs with the most custom programing you can get, you'll be fine, all though my next step is studs so i can run compound turbos

I run a 10K mod, but what is the advantage of the 5.6K version?

More power son! And it makes a sweet lopey idle.

i can hit about 28-30lbs with my DP. my cousin used to be able to hit 45-50 in his truck. but he has stage II's and jody's aggresive tune. you'll be happy with the DP they're great tunes.

I've hit 34 a few times with the H2E and stock sticks in the 120 setting. It makes me nervous to push it that hard without studs. I'll be studding it while I've got it apart for the big injector install.

If you push the stock turbo past 25psi on a reg basis you won't have it for long!! I have been around these things to long to be told otherwise!! Some of these boost numbers seem way high with no real tuning, but that's all I am going to say about that!!

ive got tw tunes, stock turbo, intake, exhaust,. mayyyybe push 23-25 at most. havent seen w a load yet tho. but at high tune accellorating on freeway to speeds upward 75-100 it starts surging too bad to truly test it.

At the track w/ Jody's 140 aggressive, I'll hit 28-30 psi on a stock turbo with a wicked wheel and stock injectors.
