Recently swapped out my halogen headlight bulbs for a set of the Supernova V.3 LED's.

Install: First off they were incredibly easy to install as it was basically just plug and play. One of the bulbs came clocked perfectly in the box with no modification needed. The second bulb needed approximately an 1/8" tweak to be perfectly clocked which happened to be right in between the holes for the set screw. I don't know how much a difference it would have made, but figured if I was going to do it I'd do it right. Aligned it where it needed to be and put a little plastic epoxy in one of the holes and with about 5 minutes extra work she was all set. The rest was just plug and play and everything fit perfect.

Performance: So far I am very happy with the performance. The lights have a perfect sharp cutoff just like the factory LED's on my wife's explorer. While I don't have a lux meter or any other scientific equipment my eyeballs tell me they are significantly brighter. I have read where some people couldn't tell any difference between low and high beam and this is not the case with these at all.

Conclusion: There are so many companies out there offering LED's for these trucks and there seems to be no accountability to making claims of light output. I must have decided 5 different times where I was going to purchase them from. While these may or may not be the best or cheapest out there I appreciate the time headlight revolution takes to make videos discussing the products they sell as oppose to just a bulb # on a website and they offer a military discount. This is what made me settle on making my purchase from them. Overall the LED's performed as I had expected and I just wanted to let ya'll know I am happy with my purchase.

I bought these off of Amazon for $35. Have worked great. Do not have before and after pic's but can tell you the difference is night and day. I also got the same brand for fogs. $75 for both sets total. Can not beat that. I sure there are better lights out there that are more expensive but these did the trick for me.

By the way...no mods done, just plug and play!!!

I'm on back roads all the time so I watch headlights a lot. One thing I noticed was most people that have LED headlights don't adjust them and they blind the heck outta ya. So I opted for led fog lights and aimed them so they light up the area in front of me and don't seem to bother on coming traffic. Truck lights are the perfect height to blind most car drivers.

Question for thechad.

What year is your truck?

Did you have to install any relays or decoders?

Great thread, I'm putting together a thread in our vendor section with samples of some of the lighting products we carry. Anyone interested in LED, HID or some of the cool aftermarket housing from companies like Recon and Spyder, check it out or PM me for some recommendations.

Thanks,

Tommy
