Installation of back up camera.

So I'm going to install a backup camera on my son's 07. I've done these a few times, but on the back of his Boss aftermarket radio there are 2 wires for the camera. I've never run across this before, there is a 12v rear camera power wire and a reverse input 12v wire. So do I connect the red wire on the video cable to that then to the backup 12v wire? What do I connect the reverse input wire to? The manual really isn't much help.

The reverse input power should probably come from your reverse lights. This will be what triggers the camera to display.

There's a couple ways to do this.
Tap the brake trigger wire from the truck (I think I went from/close to the fuse box) to the camera trigger wire on the radio (purple I think). Now, hook the 12v to the power wire built into the rca cable, and then the rca cable + to camera +, ground the camera anywhere.

Or, use the rear brake light + to camera AND rca power wire, then rca + to stereo trigger.

Or, back up switch in cab to stereo trigger, camera + to reverse light +, no need for the rca +

Or, rca + to brake trigger and radio trigger, then rca + to camera.

The. First one is easiest. I also put a toggle switch on mine, since I don't always want the camera on
