I tow a good good sized boat, around 11,000 lbs on the freeway nearly every weekend an hour or so. My excursion has 315/70/17 tires, free flowing stock exhaust(no resonator or muffler) stage 1 or 1.5 built trans locally (shift kit plus billet converter/sprag upgrade). Still on 3.73 gears but i do like the rpms for cruising 75 to 80 mph so i don't really want to change to 4.10 or 4.88.

My issue is i cannot maintain 65 mph up most of the hills between home and my lake launch site. I have to drop back to about 55 up some hills to keep EGT's below 1200. I hit 1200 very frequently but let off so they drop. I never hit above 1300 but i could if i wanted. My EGT gauge is installed in back of passanger side manifold.

On both the stock ECU tune and My DP towing (60 hp i think) tune the EGTs are about the same, no real savings on either.

Being that i'm at 330k on stock injectors, HPOP and turbo i thought maybe i'm due for some PM which means a little upgrade time if it helps.

I'm not looking for more horse power but if more power means less EGT's I'm all for it. I don't have any smoking issues, she runs well and starts easily without plugging in until down around freezing. Being i'm in the south i run 15w40 rotella year round.

any thoughts on what i should upgrade to or if i should keep it stock?

Typically more power doesn’t equal less EGTs, but if you choose the right parts you can end up with a nice well rounded truck

Personally, I’d go with 160/30s and a KC 300x series turbo. Of course custom tunes to match

You are running a 6.0 trans cooler I hope

If you really don’t want to worry about EGTs and also add significant towing power, go with larger injectors paired with the correct T4 turbo

I am convinced the only surefre way to lower EGTs is water or meth injection and turbo back exhaust. Everything else has too many variables.

I run a Dieselsite Adrenaline HPOP, 180/80 injectors, and a 364.5 turbo on GH tuning. EGT’s are not an issue at any weight or grade. I can maintain 75 mph up a 6% grade towing 11k lbs and not break 1150*

That's a lot of miles if your injectors are original.

I would go with 160/30 injectors, KC 63/73 with .84 AR housing turbo, non ebpv turbo pedestal, Hydra chip, bellowed up pipes, and our fuel line kit and stage 1 hpop.
