I bought a 2 quart bottle of Hot Shot's Secret Stiction Eliminator and on the jug it says if your oil change is between 11 and 20 quarts to add 2 quarts. I use Rotella T6 5W-40 and the stiction eliminator looks a lot thinner so I was wondering if it's OK to add 2 quarts and 13 quarts of T6 for my oil change?
Thanks,
Bob

I've seen mixed reviews on hss so I decided to try it, guess I will find out if it works in my case. My injectors aren't terrible but the truck misses for a few minutes on cold starts. If it doesn't work I guess I should wait till the next oil change to add archoil.

well thee you go

and I figure they have been around for a long time and always had the money back guarantee on the stiction fix

they claim 9 out of 10 but regardless they are still in business so despite the fact Most like Rev-x or Archoil but IMO there has to be many HSS success stories

I have run HSS but when i ordered it the day before it showed up the truck started running like hell I thought it may be tranny related and took it to a dealer it had 2 injectors with stiction so they replaced them under warranty at 30,000

now i have 125,000 with no further injector issues i have notice 0 difference when running any additive HSS / 9100/rev-x but i do occasionally run one of the stiction fixers just for the hell of it

now if i did have stiction i would order 9100 thanks to this forum beating it in to my soul LOL

and once again we disagree ;-)
i say removing the injector deposits / build up is like heart surgery if you have a restricted artery and remove the blockage then change the diet the restriction will not return

but that's an oil debate and I avoid those LOL

then again the OP never said chit about havin stiction the poor bastage just wanted to know how much to use LOL

I used HSS after Archoil did not help my stiction. I have no reason to think I have bad glowplug or two...but it is possible. Had them checked and the mechanic said they were fine.

If anyone remembers I dod not have symptoms of stiction until after I did the ECM rollback and Atlas FICM tune. As soon as I did it...it showed up. So....who know's. But I have heard some others have seen this also but not often.

Anyway I did not see any reduction with Archoil in the symptoms...sadly.

The mechanic had the two quarts of HSS sitting around and said toss it in as he was doing the oil and EGR coolers.

Took about 1500 miles until I saw a definite improvement. After about 3500 I did not see much more. Probably reduced the symptoms by 50% or so.

Changed the oil...man was it funky looking. Put back in Delo and added Archoil again cause..well..what the heck...maybe after running the HSS and getting a 50% reduction in symptoms maybe the Archoil will help reduce it more.

But sadly Arhcoil did not make any difference.

Not bashing Archoil either..just did not do anything for me I could ever notice. But I still use it because it makes me feel warm and fuzzy...although the truck could care less...wish it would have got a warm fuzzy and not me. But I use it..it won't hurt..worst case I am just pissing away some cash each oil change.

Mechanic said with HSS he would see about some sort of success about 50% of the time...the other times it did not do squat. He also said he thinks it about the same % for Archoil and Rev X...half the customers see a noticeable improvement and the other half did not see much if at all.

Certainly matters as to what is actually causing the cold starts to burp and fart...obviously of the issue is not stiction but am undiagnsoed GP issue...the goo juice is not going to have an effect. Or if the injectors are so tarnished that nothing other than new ones or pulling them and polishing is going to help.

Anyway...I am the oddball who had some success with HSS. I only have the 40 seconds of burping and farting if the temps get down around 10-15 degrees or below...then it runs smooth. Above 20 degrees I get almost nothing for stumbling. It really is around 15 degrees on the button it starts to really complain.

Well, last winter I had bad stiction. Scared the cap out of me. I had only owned the truck since late summer. I added archoil 9100 and seemed to help. Last summer I had sensor and hpop problems and the mechanic changed oil and added 2 quarts HSS.

The mechanic who installed the hpop reflashed the ecm, tcm and tcm. Now at 17 ° it starts and doesn't miss a beat....no heater plugged in. Supposed to be 5 Thursday morning and that will be the real unplugged test.

The truck doesn't belch or fart like it may or may not start it always fires right off and misses on what seems like a couple of holes until it warms up and the colder it is the longer it takes to smooth out. I've got a 95 Chevy with a 6.5 that I bought new and have experienced bad glow plugs but I guess I need to rule them out. How is the best way to troubleshoot glow plugs? Since adding the HSS I only have about 300 miles on the truck and it does seem a little smoother. The truck is only 2 wheel drive and doesn't get used much in the debt of winter since I have a Jeep Wrangler and the 95 Chevy that are 4 wheel drive so it may take me a while to get some miles on it.
