How do I remove the God forsaken thing from the axle housing? I took a 10" piece of schedule 40 pipe ~1.5" diameter set it on end on my jack and all that does is lift the tire off the ground. I even took an air hammer and a 3lb sledge to the area around the ball joint and the dog gone thing will not budge. HELP!!!!

I am at wits end with frickin truck.

Pickle fork or separator, some heat and anger management with a large hammer should do the trick. Be patient and it will come out.

Thanks for the help. It wasn't the narrow tapered end that was giving me fits. I already had that taken care of. It was the ball joint itself that was pressed into the axle housing that was causing the issue. No worries. I finally got it figured out and put back together.

i hear ya
it's a pain. i had a 12 ton bottle jack between the frame and BJ and it was lifting the truck us
so on came some heat and an air chisel with a flat tip to hammer on the outside of the housing

all that was after i cut the taper off the balljoint so i could get a flat surface LOL

I now have a c clamp and adapters that should work better
