OK what I was running is a 06 F-350 with all the mods & studded on here except the intake and running the stock air. The truck has 325/20 s Vivian tunes lonney and wild which I was running. All stock injectors and turbo.Tuner is the SCT 5015 TS set on wild. Now this truck rocks but it seems to top out and hit a dead speed at about a 1/2 mile thats when the 6.4 running HS tune caught me and he caught me fast.My speed limiter is off just wondering if anybody had this issue its like it hit a top speed and would not go any faster.I took him off the line and to the 1/4 no problem by about 6-8 truck lenghts. It was at about the little better than 1/2 mile mark he really gained. He says he is deleted and performance tune and running 17 stock tires from a 06.Neither of us launched in 4x4 ,My 20 in are 2g worth of brand new and thats the first time they were spun not that would make a difference.I know I can beat them in a 1/4 but after that I need more any thoughts. The ported intake is high on the list but what about turbo size, air, and maybe injectors?? This truck is a daily driver and also a Bring It on Kinda thing with me.Have 3.73 in it maybe thats the issue?

The truck is pushing over about 350,000 km but has been completely rebuilt after the roll-over only bolts not removed from this beast or been touched is the tranny and transfer case, everything else is pretty much new.The diffrence in weight was his was about 350 lbs heaveier, that and 2 turbos LOL but it just seemed to pull harder after a 1/2 mile

Tuned 6.4's are very fast! I'm suprised you help him off that long. They can get close to 600 with just intake, exhaust and tunes. How fast were going when it "fell on its face"? You're going to need air and fuel upgrades to put down those kind of numbers. How much of an upgrade depends on what you want to use the truck for. Do you tow? Fuel mileage. Etc. You could do a KC 68mm, 190/75 sticks and the 6.4 pump mod with regulated return. That would be a big bump in power and wouldn't hurt the bank too bad. Check my sig. My combo has put me over 600HP and a 12.7 track time.

There is a lot in the original post that done make a whole lot of sense to me.. but as Jeremy stated, 190/75s, Stage 3 turbo, and a 6.4 lift pump would get you to the 600 hp mark to stay in the same ball game as a tuned and deleted 6.4.

If you do tow heavy 10k plus, go with 190/30% injectors

obviously custom tuning will be in order to really set your truck apart.

He jumped the first run but I stayed at his front door till about the 1/2 mile mark no problem then he took off and it was a steady 6 trucks ahead of me before we backed out.
The 2nd run I took him no problem and stayed in front till about the same point i was at least 1.5 trucks ahead then the same thing he just took off. I figure it hit about 180kmp if not more as I didnt have my gps on next time i will and I gunna post some times in the 1/4 before it snows here.Going to have to get ahold of nate here and see what he has on his site it just sucks trying to get stuff up here. The ts has the performance test thing on it just have try using it right I will post some #s so it will help with ideas and maybe some comparisons Thanks for the reply

Be glad it wasn't a boosted launch start. Probably would have hurt your feelings. Get the checkbook out if you want to run with the 6.4's. 4.10 gears would help a lot along with fuel and air. How much fuel and air depends on how much you want to spend.

At the 1/2 mile mark he gained on you? How long of a distance are you racing? You know you are in a truck, right? I hate to see what your EGT's were after having it at WOT for that long. Keep doing that and you won't have to worry about what to upgrade, you'll be buying a new engine.

Running out of gears

He actually has more top end then a geared truck would.

His rpms are lower let's say at 70 mph his rpms are 1800-1900
A rpm of a truck with 4.10s will be at 2100 rpms. The 3.73 will have more top end then the 4.10s.

4.10s will increase his low end power but even him out at stock with tires and gears

LOL thats a 3 mile race with 15 forward gears and a 70lbs NOS tank!

It wasent really a 1/2 mile race more like a see who could make itto the end of a stretch first in the middle of nowhere. He will be back in 2 weeks and were going to run again but only the 1/4.He admits the truck is a good run for the money but doesn't agree with the 1/4 run cause he knows he can catch and pass eventually. You have to remember were in part of the country were there is not a soul for miles around and only have 7 highways to nowhere here 8 counting the Dempster. I not to worried about blowing the motor up as I have lots of motors sitting here I a junkie for the 6.0 .The truck was more built as a toy and never pulls anything heavier than quads and sleds.I do have the Vivian tunes and the canned ones.I think I will lean towards the turbo and the sticks, I guess I really need to make sure I can keep the hole shot with the truck more than anything,
The other idea about the fuel and air I will have to look here and do some searching, the air I kinda went with the stock filter cause it seemed to be what everybody trusted the most. Thanks for the comments and I will get # up here hopefully by wensday

I was running 95-100 or so down the hwy with a 12k trailer behind me.. Didn't even realize I was going that fast until the wife started yelling at me. Before anyone starts *****ing at me, I was only going 10-15 over the speed limit :)
I wish I had known how powerful 6.4's are vs 6.0's or I would have bought a 6.4

I'd say either something is seriously wrong with the 6.4 you raced, or he is a terrible driver, or he is toying with you as they mentioned. If all the planets lined up, you might be knocking on the door of 500 hp...and that's being generous. He could easily be approaching 600 with the H&S. If you held him for 1/4, then you won. You won't find many people trying to push their trucks much faster than 100-120 mph, for good reason. Ever tried stopping 8k lbs doing 120mph? And, if he's leaving you top end, that's a great example of HP at its finest, just doesn't explain why you jump him for the first 1/4 mile.

And I agree Oliver, if he's on stock gearing, plus 35's...he's got considerably more gearing than the 6.4 does for top speed. 1/2 mile race is a long way...maybe half a kilometer? Lmao
