Newbie here. Just bought my first diesel truck in April 2024. Its a 2017 F250 6.7L, SRW, with 72k miles, 6 sp trans, a 3.55 rear end, 18 OEM rims with Michellin tires and the truck is stock. When I purchased it, the first thing I did was change the fuel filter (OEM), water separator (OEM) and cleaned the air filter in the cold air return. I add Hotshots EDT each time I fill up. I get approximately 14.8 mpg around town and 9-10 mpg pulling our 6500# travel trailer in tow haul. If I tow it without tow haul on, I get 12-13 mpg. These numbers are all based on the computer. When i hand calculate, it is a little less (not huge). Does that seem normal? Is there anything else I can change to improve mileage? I see guys on other forums boasting better MPG, so I am trying to figure out if they are full of $hit or if there is something else I can do to increase MPG. Not a big issue, just curious. I love my truck!

They're full of it - those numbers are normal. I get the same, or slightly worse, around town, and about the same when towing travel-trailers and construction office trailers on the highway. The best ways to improve MPG is to just drive slower and keep your tires aired-up. I'd also try cleaning your MAF sensor; if it gets clogged it will impact your MPG, but based on your numbers, I don't think you have that issue (still a good idea to keep it clean).
