Front Wheel Bearing Hubs....Moog vs. Timken?

One of the front wheel bearing hubs on my 05' F250 is starting to make some noise. I checked all of the local autoparts stores, and the only "non-house" brand bearing I could find was a Moog.....for about $450. The Masterpro, Ultrapro, and all the other cheap china brands were around $200. I figured there is a reason for that.

So I picked up the Moog for $450.

Then I started looking on amazon after I got home....I can order a Timken brand bearing hub for around $265 and get it in a couple of days.

Should I keep the Moog, or return it and save almost $200 and just order the Timken off of Amazon? Are the Timkens on Amazon American made, or are they just rebranded China parts?

Any info would be great. Thanks

If you decide to return the Moog and go with Timkens, buy it from 1AAUTO. They bump the warranty to a lifetime warranty on the bearing/hub assembly, vs. standard 1-3yrs from anywhere else.

Timken for sure Moog is way overpriced.

So i went with TIMKEN and bought from a non sponsor cause i was in a bind and short on cash. Got em for 218 ea plus shipping and the studs showed up with them, which was rad.

If i had the money n time next go around id get em from 1aauto due to their lifetime warranty option. Timken warranties for 3 yr IIRC.

I went with Timkens few years ago, If I remember right they had roller bearings instead of ball bearings, hope I am remebering this right but I know i definately bought Timken after doing research. Any roller bearing should be fine, the cheaper bearing tend to use ball bearings from what I understand and they dont hold up as well in heavy trucks

They all use roller bearings, ball bearings would fail quickly under that much load.

6 one way, half a dozen the other. My old 6.0 has a Timken on the drivers side and a MOOG on the passenger side. The Moog was put on about 30k after the Timken and cost about half as much due to an employee discount through a family member. Both are still doing well. The Timken has about 100k on it and the Moog about 70k.

pretty sure if you called tousley they could have gotten dang close to that $250 mark for OEM motorcraft hub assemblies. I just called a couple of months ago when I was pricing all this up.
