Hi Guys,
When I first got my old 97 Powerstroke I began hearing about Brian's truck shop in Arkansas when ever there was a transmission discussion going on . That old truck was a manual so I didn't think to much about it. Fast forward a handful of years and i upgraded to my current 2002 F-250 auto trans and decided on day 1 when it needed a trans i would get a BTS . 4 years later that time has come , I bought the truck with 115K and it now has 183K and the trans is ready to come out. I made an appointment at Brian's back in July and the quickest he could do was September 27 so I agreed. It has not been fun being without my truck since July but the wait will be worth it. This Monday I'm having a buddy from work haul me out to lead Hill AR . I live North of Memphis so it's gonna be around 5 hrs or so. The price I'm told will be Approx. 6K for the trans removal, build, reinstallation, Fluid and a new 6.0 cooler . Its Alot of money but as you all know its well worth it. I also plan on keeping the truck for a long time. Any recommendations while I'm out that way ?
Pic of the truck its going in below.

Plus I can add power and not have to worry about my transmission going south at any time. The warranty stories I've heard are phenomenal as well . I just cant wait to be cruising in my 7.3 again 😎 . I've also got a 86 bronco that I've been keeping busy with so that's helped to pass the time.

So its a done deal ! I went out to AR and spent the day at Brian's shop. I got there at 7:30 am and pulled the truck in right around 8am . I'd say by 9am the transmission was out being disassembled. They gutted it , pressure washed the case and inspected it. After it checked good they painted it with a fresh coat of grey paint. It was lunch time at that point and then Brian took me and the rest of the crew out to lunch at the local golf course. It was an excellent lunch and I was able to talk to Brian for a good hour about work , trucks etc... After lunch they got back to work on re-assembly . I just enjoyed the view outside in some comfy chairs out front over looking some fields. it was a beautiful day with a nice breeze. 4pm rolled around and I heard the truck fire up. it was still lifted up in the air and he was running through the gears unloaded to make sure it shifted correctly.

About 4:30 pm we went for the test drive. Throughout the drive he was explaining some of the transmission behavior and the differences between stock and his builds. Once the air was purged out it was shifting great and I was Happy. We got back to the shop and he brought me back into the tear down / rebuild portion of the shop to show me the differences between my stocks parts versus what he installs. I also saw the exact cause of my issue's which was a worn out pump and convertor. I had excessive wear on the OD clutches as well. Brian also showed me exactly how to modify my valve body plate for when I add some more power and said feel free to call him anytime with questions. I jumped in the truck to leave around 5:30 pm and had a 5 hour ride home to test it out. It was an awesome trip and experience , Brian and patty were a joy to be around and made the trip very stress free and relaxing .

They are truly some great people out there. The new trans is awesome, its really amazing how much harder the truck pulls off idle, the new triple disc torque convertor really makes a huge difference. The shifts are firm and quick but not to aggressive. I'm a very happy customer to say the least. I only snapped a few pics and I'll post them below. I also hooked up my utility trailer up and its light but there is still a noticeable difference in towing it around .

Yea I totally agree, it actually only cost 5600 as I already had a 6.0 cooler installed. I don't know
