f250-f450 axle swap

Can u swap the axles from a 06 f450 with an 02 f250 ive got a bad wheel bearing and steering box among many other issues with high mileage on the 02 and have a wrecked 06 450 10lug with good front and rear axles and was wondering if i could swap the axles and maybe the gears depending what they are and put them under the 02 and if that isnt compatible will the 06 8 lug axles fit in place of the 10 lug so i can continue using my 8 lug wheels and tires. thanks

I am pretty sure that that will not work. After '04 (I think) they used the new coil spring front ends on these trucks instead of leaf springs. The front end set up is totally different. The rear end might work in place of your '02, but you will have to use the 10 lug axles, since the internals of the F450 rear end are much different.

Basically, it would be a big headache. I would suggest just getting a new steering box, and replacing the bearings and such. Or find some good take-out parts from a junker..
