I'll have to dig into this a little to provide you with accurate info. I'll start by noting that if there are codes in the PCM remote starting is disabled.

 

Did you put the antenna in? My 16 the antenna is above the driver seat in the roof. Other years it's behind the glove box.

And if I remember correctly I only did bcm.

Edit- I also programmed 10min shut off.

You are clicking lock>followed by a double click of remote start button? Moderate speed, not too slow or fast...

 

No check engine lights, I did also install the antenna, I get zero response from the truck.
I've tried various combinations of the remote start process with the fob.
Horn honks once when I lock the truck, I believe signaling the truck don't see any doors/ the hood open. Aside from when it locks, I have no headlight flash or anything.

Yes sir, under hood switch is in place and presumably working correctly.
I locked the truck manually holding the pin down, released pin and alarm went off.
When locking the truck, I only get one horn honk. I believe that signals all doors/hood is registered shut, as when a door is ajar i get 2 honks when locking the truck.

 

Horn shouldn't honk after one lock click, only lights flash?

 

Only the marker lights flash with one button press of the lock.

 

I had something similar happen to me. Check the TPMS module; it has the remote start module in it. Mine had gotten wet and corroded. I took it out, opened it, and cleaned it. It then started working.

 

This was one of my ideas also, as I also had a tpms light on that I disabled through forscan.
I figured it was my new tires/rims I put on had dead tpms sensors.
Did your lock and unlock still work correctly with your fob?

Yes, the lock and unlock functions worked. Remove the TPMS module, open it, and pull out the board. Clean it with a contact cleaner. 95% sure should fix it. If not maybe the module went bad?

Haven't got a chance to pull the module out yet, plan to tomorrow morning. I'll update one i pull the module out and give it a cleaning.

 

Update, module looked clean and free of any corrosion/dust. Cleaned it off with contact cleaner. Still zero response from the truck.

 

For 4x4 issues to power mirrors not working and now this, just got the truck less then 5 months ago. About ready to sell the pos off lol.

 

Mine is a '17 F250. Don't know what yours is, but I had to get the FORScan to get the damn horn to stop blowing every time I shut the door with the motor running, and some other stuff on FORScan was nice improvements over what was on board. It might help with your remote start program? Not sure. Good luck.

Yeah, new tpms module on the way. Plan to install and go through and disable/enable remote start in both ipc and bdycm.
Will post update next week.

 

Disabling the TPMS module in my 2012 F-250 with Forscan also prevents the remote start from working. Re-enabling the TPMS allows the remote start to function again.

 

New tpms module installed, tpms module turned back on and all tires trained.
Bought the recommend obd2 connector for forscan.
Went through and disabled/re enabled everything, still no luck.
Kind of lost on this one, considering bringing to to ford and see if they can do anything.
Would really like remote start on this *****😅
Only other thing I could think of is buying a oem ford key and trying that.
I bought 2 keys claiming to have oem ford internals with new bodys, these are the ones I programmed and everything works fine aside from remote start.

Wow! That's a real bummer Jakes 6.7 ! Especially with all the work you have done/tried! I wish I had a good answer for you. I wonder if Ford dealer would let you borrow one of their "real" remotes to try there without leaving the lot? Cause the last time I checked they were very proud of those things! I have one that is generic, but I was able to program it with one of the originals. If I were you and took it to the dealer to try and fix; I would give them a limit on how much time and parts to spend on it. Along with a list of what you have tried. So many of them; if you give them a blank check they really take off with it. Good luck!

 

I bought the key, and antenna from a Ford oem parts supplier. It was $150 for both. Just to be sure, you are trying it as seen in the video?

I ONLY programmed the bcm.

I would be looking at the antenna next. I didn't want to pull the headliner down very far and I didn't plug it in all the way. Didn't work initially. I pulled it down a little further and got it plugged in all the way and it worked.

 

Mine is under glove box, plugged cord in before I installed it. Oem motorcraft antenna, I've also heard remote start will work without it. Just ****ty range.

 

Correct. oops, super bowl drinky clouded my judgement Only other thing I can think of is the programming or bad hood switch. The number you program in forscan doesn't stay the same after programming. Did you enter the number and leave it or did you have issues and fiddle with it?

 

No problems programming it, I've went back in and enabled/disabled it multiple times. No issues arose programming it.
