hello, i have a 2019 ford f350 limited 6.7 diesel, NOT a dually. just a regular truck. sorry bear with me im not really a tire and wheel guy. i have no knowledge. All i know is my truck came with the r20 oem wheels and tires

i want to get a dedicated set of winter tires and wheels and am wondering what size of rim and what offset fit on our trucks? and or which ones you guys recommend for winter if there is on.
i assume the bolt pattern will always stay as 8x170
however i see size the of the rim and offset can be different so i am wondering which sizes i can run? and also how do i find which size of tires will fit those rims?

please see the attachment, is that correct info? or is there somewhere else i can look for the clearest info?
secondly if that is correct, does the offset HAVE to be 40? or can it differ a little? not that i want it to, its just to expand the options i hasve for wheels

if the pic cant be seen heres the link:

Is this link correct for the proper rim and tire sizes?

thx

If you are just literally looking for a 2nd set of rims I would look on craigslist or something similar and find someone looking to ditch their OEM wheels. Takes all the guess out of it that way.

@rpelich I figured that was what the second set of rims was for being winter and not winter so if the rim is tripping you up that is just one way to get one you know will fit. Alot of wheel shops may have some laying around for cheap or whatever.

So I have a 2019 ford f350 diesel truck in limited version. it originally came with LT275/65R20E. I believe all "limited" model came with that size. I want to run a set of winter tires and with my research it seems like my two options are to change the tire on my wheel with another r20 winter tire or buy a dedicated set of 18 inch tires. With my further research it seems like it is best for me to get a set of 18 inch winter tires with rim because this size will keep me closest to my trucks original GAWR. I am not planning to haul in the winter and even when i do haul, i dont nearly get close to the max GAWR of the oem wheels. So with more further research it seems like my best bet is to get lt275/70/r18e winter tires with a set of rims. A different version of my truck (not the limited comes with lt275/70/r18e on 8x170, 8x18, offset of 40 wheels. I assume I should find a wheel that is 8x170, 8x18, with a offset of 40. However it seems like there is not many options with a offset of 40. So this is where I need assistance, If I decide on the lt275/70/r18e, what size wheels will fit my truck? i dont care about look or stance or anything, i just want the wheels to fit with no rubbing and or no addition stress on my truck.

thanks!!!

So, to answer your question, 18" and 20" rims fit. The offset is determined more by the rim style than anything. Most are 0 or - 12.
I'd be looking for a set of take-offs as those can be cheaper than aftermarket, unless you want ugly steel wheels. I'm pretty sure 05 and up wheels fit.

ahh gotcha but it seems like the oem 2019 ford f350 when it comes with the 18's has a offset of 40.
i found some wheels with a offset of 18, is that too far from oem? like i dont wanna have rubbing or additional stress on the truck

sounds good thanks so much for all the help!
just gonna confirm fitment with the manufacturer but probably gonna end up with a 8x170, 8x18 with a offset of 18 wheel. pretty cheap only $190 cad a wheel

lastly any comments on these winter tires? i want the best performing winter tire that lasts the longest out of these. i also want a strict winter tire and want to avoid the tires that turn into all seasons half way thru the thread. i heard some people say some tires turn into aggressive all seasons midway thru which i obvs dont want. thx!!

Toyo Open Country WLT1- 306 CAD
Cooper Discover SnowClaw - $245
Goodyear Winter Command Studdable - $296 cad
Firestone Winterforce LT - $229 CAD
Good Year UltraGrip ICE - $301 CAD
General Tire Arctic LT Studdable - $229 CAD
Hercules Tire Avalanche TT studdable - $240 Cad

thanks!

Hey...lets make it simple. Method wheels will fit and work just fine. Not to mention IF you wanted a 4k load rated wheel they have those too. I've been running Method wheels for awhile now, I highly recommend them. They fit just fine, same OE offset/backspacing, and just a tad wider at 18x9.

Hello. I have a '17 F350 Lariat with 20" rims. I'm considering going to 18" rims, as I'll have more tire options, potentially just like your Methods. I'm curious if your truck came from the factory with 20" or 18"? Thx

I had factory 20" wheels/tires. The Ford metric for tire size overall is what you want to follow. Just stay close in overall tire size and it should be just fine. From what I discovered with a standalone GPS my MPH were actually 2-3MPH off of GPS readings. You could use your cell phone, please be aware of your surroundings.

With that as I went to a "bigger" tire, the truck MPH and GPS speeds were down to like 1 MPH (or less) apart. So on Method 18" and Toyo/Nitto tires there's nothing really changed since the overall size is within the OEM tire sizes.
