I have a 2016 F-250 6.7 Lariat
When i put the turn signal on it will blink 3 times but it will not stay locked in. I replaced the turn signal switch and still having the same issue.
Does the Clock Spring also control the turn signal keeping it locked into position until the turn is complete?
I cant find anything online with this issue.

Ford has done some inconsistent things with MF switches. Most have a mechanical cancel but some do not and in my opinion some model years the turn signal operation feels and operates, well, goofy. The non-mechanical switches have two detents or positions for left and right - be sure that you are moving the stalk fully to the second detent when activating. The "blinks 3 times" is a clue. If you can post a clear picture of the end that attaches to the SCCM it would help identify what you have... I do not think it's mechanical but let's be certain! The following from the workshop manual is a description of how this works on a 2016 and may provide some clarity:

The multifunction switch is a momentary contact switch, with 2 detents for the LH TURN position and 2 detents for the RH turn position. When placed in the first detent, the corresponding turn signals flash 3 times and turn off. When the multifunction switch is moved to the second detent, the turn signal flashes until the steering wheel is turned in the opposite direction (based on input from the steering wheel rotation sensor), the multifunction switch is moved to the second detent a second time or the vehicle travels farther than 3.2 km (2 miles). The BCM monitors the steering wheel rotation sensor and the multifunction switch input to determine when to cancel the turn signals. The BCM monitors the distance traveled to determine if the turn signal should be turned off.

No luck here. I replaced the Steering. angle Sensor and the Multifunction Switch. I have a code C1B00. Do you have the same code? I’ve been doing research and I’m thinking it’s either the ABS Control Module or the Pitman arm may need to re torque or *** a drop compensation Pitman Arm. I’ll keep you posted if I figure it out it’s pissing me off. Let me know what you have for a code and if you figure out the problem. Good luck!
