Hello all, new to the board. I was looking for an all terrain tire that performs well on wet pavement, is relatively quiet on the highway and good in the woods. I currently have the Nitto terra grappler G2, which I bought used from a friend. They've been ok, just looking to see what else is out there. Thanks in advance!

Les Schwab Open Range tire is awesome and has been a great tire for me. I had them siped and now winter performance has been excellent. Fall drive up from California was great in the rain. Better price than the main brands of high dollar tire.

There is no best

I find that no tire is good on a wet road for a diesel truck, especially if you are in a hurry.

out of the tires i have used, My favorite all around tires are the Falken AT3W and I think they have or are coming out with a new version. my other choice is discoverer AT3, now the XLT I think.

I haven't had good luck with BFG as they never lasted more than 15K, but the newer versions might be better.
I don't trust firestone. yokahama were good. I know people that really like the hankooks, can't remember model.

there are a bunch of great options available. we can't decide this for you. You will always get mixed results.

I always liked the duratracs as well but known for softer sidewalls. not sure if they improved that or not and I never had any issues with them at all

I personally like a hybrid between all terrain and mud terrain with an aggressive sidewall

I run 2 sets of wheels & tires on my 2003 F350 in the winter I run my stock aluminum wheels wrapped in LT315/75R16 Falken Wldpk AT3W's & in the Summer Months I run my Ion 17" Wheels Wrapped in LT35x12.50x17 Falken Wldpk AT3W's They ride great not very noisey & great all year round traction but I find with the amount of torque you can put down at any time in any weather you can still spin them up off the line without really trying if you're in a hurry off the line but if you take it easy then all is good, I have no issue in the inclimate weather. I am also running balance beads in all my tires no more wheel weights I should have done this years ago. I run them in my motorcycle tires also plus my wheels look a lot better now they don't have all those ugly wheel weights on them they are also wearing even better.

I've been running the newer version of Duratrac's for the past year(285/75r18 on 18x8 +40 steelz)on my rig with 8'' lift and have been extremely unimpressed with traction on wet roads till the other day when I upgraded to 18x9 +1 alloyz with same rubber. Truck has a wider stance now and the extra inch on rim makes quite the difference on tire shape and wet road traction has improved a lot IMHO. I do have roughly 500lbs in the bed at the moment, but had the same weight with the previous setup and there's definitely improved wet traction!

I'm now quite happy with my Duratrac's :)

I've used almost every A/T tire on the market and about half of the M/T tires. Hands down, not even close, the best tire I've found for WET conditions is the Falken A/T3W. Those are just amazing. They worked magic with that rubber compound. Hook up like a cat on carpet. Rain, snow, dirt, towing in the summer heat, those tires just don't care.

The A/T4W just came out last month and now I'm running those in the 35x12.50R18 flavor. So far they are even better. Very quiet, smooth as glass, amazing traction in all conditions. Exactly what I expected from Falken.

As far as brands to avoid at all costs: Goodyear, Nitto (****to), Toyo, and some Cooper tires are just plain awful. I don't think I'd run a set of Nittos if you gave them to me for free. Not worth the danger when the roads get wet. And don't even get me started on the Goodforayear Duratracs. Those tires are allergic to rain.

Yeah I've had my tires for a few years now swapping them back & forth helps in them lasting longer. Lol plus I wok at a FORD Dealership & I got a good deal on them as well.

Hey all. So I got the maxxis razr ats mounted and so far they are great! Awesome wet traction and they are almost silent. Haven't had them in the woods yet but by the looks of the tread I'm sure they'll handle anything that I'll need them to. Hope the longevity is good, very impressed so far. Thanks to everyone for their input!
