So winter is coming and my front tires are pretty bald. So I figured I'd replace all 4.

Im looking for opinions on the best all terrain tire with a more aggressive sidewall.

I have a 2014 F-250. Truck is not lifted.

Thanks for any feedback!

Probably going to get tons of reccos but My personal favorite (at this time) is the nitto terra grapplers. Didnt actually buy them, they were on the used F250 I bought. They have pretty aggressive tread, ride quiet, wear well, and stay in balance (20" rims). I'd buy them again in a heartbeat. My top choice was BFG all terrains in the past but the treat reformulation was causing them to wear out too quickly for my tastes.

I was a tried and true Terra Grappler fan with my F150 Super Crew, and my GM SUV, so I naturally went with the same on my F250.....To my surprise, ended up only getting 33k miles out of them. Everything was stock, only pulled a camper twice a year (250 miles per trip), and a 14' lawn trailer once a week during grass season... Rotated as advised, and was sorely disappointed.

Second set was Toyo Open Country AT-II, and they have been awesome! pushing 44k now, and still have a little left...

Was considering the Ridge Grapplers this go around...

I'd guess I've gone through about 10 sets of BFG AT's but the latest set are my first KO2's and I'll be looking for something else next time. They're wearing faster and I'm having recurring balance issues. One of the tires was replaced under warranty because it wouldn't balance. Not sure what changes are in the KO2 but somebody at BFG didn't know better than to mess with a good thing!

I just put 295/70/r18 Nitto Ridge Grapplers on yesterday. Suppose to be a cross between AT and MT, look pretty aggressive. Found a good deal online for them ($298.00 each) and dealership matched price for me. Seem quiet and drive nice. Time will tell as snow will be flying here soon.

I have used Goodyear Duratracs on my last three trucks. Not only do I drive on highway but a lot of sand, rain, snow, and ice. I'm 52 and never had a better "all terrain " tire. I couldn't care less about looks all I want is performance and these are the best I've had. I drive in deep sand at my ranch loaded with horse trailer or what not and these tires are amazing. Drive in mud soaked roads, deep snow and couldn't be happier. As far as ice- doesn't really matter what you're running. This is my honest opinion and like I said- I put them to the test and couldn't be happier with their performance.

I've had duratracs on my work trucks before, AS you said they do grip goo, but they have always been a soft compound tire and wear way to fast and they don't like a lot of weight even though they are supposedly rated for it. They are on the $$$$ side too.

If I was going with an all terrain I would get either the Goodyear Duratrac, or DC fun country. Also the Mastercraft courser ct was an excellent tire but I dont think there made any more. My experience with the both the Nitto terra grapplers and Firestone at was not good. But Firestone does make a good MT.

I just ordered a set of DC Fun Country but haven't put them on yet because I am waiting on new wheels. They are supposed to be a cross between an AT and MT tire. Was considering the Nitto Ridge Grapplers but they won't be available in my size until December.

I have the new Yokohama Geolander AT G015 tire. My first AT tire and I am quite happy. I was down to the Cooper Discoverer AT3 and the Nitto Duragrappler. The tire store had also suggested Hercules, they said that is was a great tire for the price. May try them next.

Cooper ST MAXX - great tire- hardly wearing at all, great price- great look

I've had great luck with the Duratracs as well, best snow tire I've ever used. Next set I really want to try the Cooper ST Maxx. I've also had pretty good luck with the Cooper AT3s

I agree with the BFG comments. It was the only tire I would consider for my WV mud snow blacktop daily driver until they wore out faster than my blue jeans. I haven't found anything I'm that partial to yet.

Toyo open country AT2, great all season tires

I've had the same issues with the BFGs. That's all I ran on my Bronco and Suburban. Just switched the Suburban over to the Coopers AT. Treating me well so far. The stock tires only have 1800 miles and no off road use yet so I'm not sure how they work yet.

You can thank the EPA for that. A deleted one does much better.
