Been looking to replace my stock cold side pipe but don’t want to spend $300-$400. Anyone have the Dorman pipe? How’s it held up? Do you wish you would have paid for the more expensive options?

Where are you located? $300 gets you a sinister diesel pipe with the CARB EO sticker(actually just the paperwork, no sticker) for CA smog. Rudy's is $150 or less. I wouldn't touch a doorman product except for stupid interior or replacement parts you don't rely on. I put the doorman replacement vent adjuster when the plastic broke on the oem. In the drivetrain? Not a chance.

They are almost entirely just the same. I was forced (kind of) to get the sinister because I'm located in CA. I had to produce the paperwork when I last got mine smogged with the referee otherwise they would have failed me for modifications. The Rudy's or s&b are the same, they just didn't pay the extortionate CA democratic regime to get the California air resource board exemption documents in order to legally sell to the CA market. The pipes are the same aluminum. The boots are the same 3 or 600psi max (I forget exactly). Why pay twice as much for a the same pipe if you don't have to? I only did because I didn't want to swap the stupid pipe out eveytime I wanted to smog it. The extra $150 wasn't worth my couple hours every 2 years. The pipes are not as easy to install as the stock. Stock are 2 piece, most aftermarket are 1 piece. I had to struggle a bit to get the boot seated between the intercooler and pipe correctly. I would get the nicer of the Rudy's or s&b and call it a day.

Doorman screws up so many parts it is criminal
even a window seal for my Tahoe was so pathetic it bound up a new oem window motor

they can’t even copy oem they had to cheap out and put rubber against glass instead of felt like oem , Dorman screws people over constantly and takes forever to change the known issues ( ford cam phasers for example ) that you should just avoid their crap at all cost

Get one from a wrecked 04-05. That's what I did. Drove 50 miles to get it but it only cost me $30 for it.
