Sorry to ask a redundant question but heres .y problem... 2000 F350, manual hvac with knobs

When i first purchased truck only had defrost in every position, found the 4x4 actuator was at fault, bypassed it and voila everything worked

Summer- went on three hour road trip with a/c on, about 1.5-2 hours in air flow from vents decreases till its only coming out the vents, cab heats up blah blah, get to destination and park for about 10 minutes and notice alot coming from the drain tube, hop in truck everything works so I was like it probably froze off, checked charge was little high so I drained the ac and put new accumulator and orfice tube and recharged. Weather was never overly hot afterwards and I never went on any long drives.

Fall/winter- same situation, drove about an hour to pick up a slip tank i had bought, drove there with the panel vents and floor vents selected blowing heat. Got to the place and picked up the tank. Truck sat idling for half an hour as I BSed with tank seller, when leaving noticed that i no longer had air blowing on me....... coming out the defrost again, didnt change all the way home

So where do I start? Usually if you have a vaccuum leak it'll be there as soon as you turn the key. I'm lost personally.... blend door actuator with bad diaphragm? The blend door controller that sits on top the hvac box under the dash? Control panel? All other vacuum assisted parts work minus the 4x4 as I have it bypassed

Your have controls relay on vacuum.

-Check the vac pump, lines to/from pump to reservoir
-vac reservoir, lines from reservoir to 4x4 solenoid
-lines to hubs (can be capped) esp for testing
*there is also a white vac line with like a 90 degree fitting under five box that can be kicked/broke/cracked easy

99.99999% air stuck on defrost is vacuum issue. System not sealed 100%. It also affects your hubs. If you have the electric 4x4 shift knob you can use the vac system
Or use hubs manually. They have an auto and lock position. Auto is basically off with ability to turn on via vacuum and lock is on like a manual hub. No need to buy warn hubs. Just plug vac lines and cap nipple on the hub on each side

The pump is on the RH fender just rear of the battery -- key on and pop the hood

you can pull the vac connector off the pump and put your finger over it -- should turn off quickly

as @JustinOOO9 mentioned, usually a vacuum leak - worn line, split coupler, fuse for the pump

This vid is for a gasser, but it shows how the lines can leak -- and be repaired
