Just picked up a 14 f250 with 75k on it and drove it a few hundred miles before changing the oil. Once I changed the oil I started to notice that typical typewriter tick noise. I brought it by the dealer just to double check and make sure it wasn’t something else. They told me it didn’t sound like the typical noises after an oil change and sounded like something internal. I dropped it off at another shop that said the same. I’ve only driven it a couple hundred miles since the oil change and it hasn’t changed. It doesn’t do it right on start up, it starts once the motors warmed up. It also isn’t just at idle. It will increase as the engine rpms increase. I’ve talked to a few other people who have said their trucks do it after an oil change but the sound doesn’t increase when hitting the throttle. Used the ford oil and filter.
