I'm looking to change the coolant my 2013 Ford F-350. I'm not sure if the coolant mixture should be 50/50 vc3b coolant and distilled water in both the primary and secondary radiators? I don't have a owners manual to refer to. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

Please tell me your joking.

Now call a Ford dealer service department and see what they say about that. Different coolant types have different additives. Beware of the "one coolant for all". Of course Prestone would tell you that it'll work; they want to sell you coolant. Just trying to save you from an expensive cooling system repair down the road.

if it is the prime it may be ok, You should be running the Prestone Orange. But the motorcraft is about the same cost.

Also Prime only covers you from -36 to 265
Prestone orange is -84 to 276 and fords is the same.

These truck have to use a special coolant or it will fubar it.

Good luck, i would get a call into a Diesel mechanic very soon and see if its ok

I don't screw with coolant anymore...had some friends add to their Dexcool in their Duramx once...the differing additives caused gunk to gel...essentially causing hotspots in the block. The coolant they used said it was compatible also. Just food for thought.

Considering the price difference between GM Dexcool and The Prestone formulation is less than a dollar, there is no reason to chance it. And there have been various lawsuits wrt Dexcool (GM has been taken to court many times)...to each their own...I have nothing against Prestone, it is fine when used correctly. Some things are easier not to gamble with...

I know prestone makes some that can be used. I know this say any make, model. But i still would not chance it. The only one by prestone i would run is the Orange and still i would choose the motorcraft over it. Cost about an extra 5 bucks for the total change.

Would you use an fuel that says it works in any make, model or a Oil that was no weight and said any, make model? How about a Bearing grease? Transmission fluid? Brake fluid? just saying.

I work on closed loop and open loop heating and cooling systems for a living. Water treatment is vital to the longevity of a heating and cooling system. With the complexity of the 2 cooling systems in this truck, I wouldn't chance it. You have a lot of money invested in this truck and you running what your running makes me nervous and it's not even my truck. This truck is using a block and materials in the engine that can be affected severely by corrosion if not protected and it's very advanced and a lot of research has gone into this motor and the coolant running thru it. Again, I wouldn't chance it.

Just out of curiosity I would run the Rotunda Antifreeze Coolant ELC Contamination Kit # 328-R071-ELC on your coolant to see what it says. But your are not running the oem spec so is it right or wrong. I guess you can be the guinea pig?

Sorry if I come off rude, but this kind of stuff is something I can deal with on a daily basis and my number one goal is to do what's best for my customer and take care of equipment as if it was my own.

From the Prestone website
Corrosion is the enemy of any cooling system. Corrosion and cavitation rob your engine of performance and cause premature failure.

Prestone's new advanced corrosion fighting Cor-Guard™ formula prevents corrosion from forming on your water pump and radiator. Designed for today's sophisticated engines, no other formulation provides your vehicle with this patented protection.

Freeze protection really isn't the issue. What worries me is what will the pH be in 3 years after using this? Does it have the inhibitors to protect all of the metals it touches in this truck? For a standard gasser, no doubt! This darn thing has 2 coolant systems! In a coolant system this size, a little damage can cause a lot of damage. It can collect in any of the heat exchangers, and cause a restriction. In a lot of equipment I work on, they have Y strainers that can be opened up for inspection to see what's going through the system and protect whatever heat exchanger is being utilized.

In this cooling system there is to my knowledge no strainers or filters to be examined because they are depending on the cooling system to be maintained with the oem coolant with the proper PH and proper inhibitors, added at certain intervals if needed, to prevent any corrosion from occuring and causing a scale buildup or oxidation from forming that can contaminate the system causing major issues.

Here are some pictures from the coffee table book if you haven't seen it that shows what all this coolant is passing through. That's not even all of what the coolant passes through.
