Meaning...you don't hear the hair dryer noise that others have with a straight pipe when you start the truck? Is that what you mean?

no lol I'm talking about that growl every straight piped 6.0 has at about 2500 rpm 6.0s are famous for that sound why doesn't mine have any growl, i promise you everything is a straight pipe and it still sounds STOCK literally the white is there and i still have power but no growl at all, could it be the flo pro should i switch to mbrp or what it doesnt make sense its just a straight pipe...

Hmmmm...not sure exactly what you're expecting to hear.

A video would help out a lot here.

ok hopefully this question will help ill have to take a video soon, but can you tell me why my truck with just a egr delete and staight pipe is quieter than my cousins truck with a egr delete and a straight pipe, the only difference is my exhaust is a flo pro and his is mbrp? shouldn't they both sound the same and both of our trucks are the same year also.

Radius of bends and distance between them = sound wave harmonics

yup it will make a difference. I owned a muffler and brake shop for years. Could build the same system with the same turbo mufflers on the same rigs and they would all sound different.
they're some variables for sure. My son and I both have the same truck. mine is '07 his '06. And they bot sounds totally different. His is much quieter than mine and we both have stock exhausts..

Different PCM tuning and having the turbo vanes open at idle can cause a rumble sound or more like a hair dryer.

Not that specific one, you may want to get one the size to fit your exhaust. What I was trying to illustrate was the style of the Y.

My buddy has a 05 or 06 and asks the same thing.
My 03 is a full 4inch. He only has a gutted cat and muffler delete.
Mine has the rumble, his doesn't. But that's not exactly apples to apples either.
Tuning can/will make the difference.

It would change the sound. Exhaust sound is going to vary based on bends/tube lengths/tube diameters.

While a trombone is not a performance product it makes different notes by changing the tubing lengths, exhaust sound is very similar. All brass instruments with/without valves make different notes by changing tubing length via a slide or valves and by having different tubing sizes. A piccolo sounds different from a flute, a coronet sounds different than a trumpet, etc.. Exhaust is very similar in this respect.

So I only get that awesome loud drone when I’m running my ultimate x tune from innovative diesel. I have a 4” straight through afe, egr delete, still on stock injectors and turbo. I run my street tune towing my 25’ 6,000 lb RV and it’s nowhere near as loud as my ultimate x. My extreme street tune has a decent drone as well.

I have an 06 that I deleted the cat and put a flow pro muffler on it. Basically the modern diesel version of a glass pack from back in the day.. my truck is quiet.. if i give it half throttle it has a very nice v8 rumble that is loud enough to make you smile.
