Hi,
My 2018 F350 AC is not cooling. I jump the compressor via relay and it works fine. So I think the issue is the evaporator temp sensor, part number FR3Z-19C734-A

the below link : Ford FR3Z-19C734-A Sensor Assembly
has a diagram show the senor is located some there in the middle console area. So I open up the middle dash and removed the radio etc. But I am not able to see anywhere there is a place for the AC evaporator sensor?

Has anyone done the replacement before? Anyone know where the sensor is located? Any real pictures or youtube video would really help. It's very hot to use my truck without the AC!

thx.

"So I think the issue is the evaporator temp sensor... "
Is this a guess? Do you have any codes, sensor data or diagnostics that lead you to this conclusion?

As mentioned, te sensor is mounted directly on the evaporator core. The instrument panel and the HVAC housing have to come out to access and replace it.

There are other, more likely causes for your A/C concern than the evaporator core temperature sensor. Considering the difficulty of accessing the sensor I HIGHLY RECOMMEND getting assistance on this as far as diagnosing it. Diagnosing requires a scan tool, the ability to read PCM and HVAC module inputs along with sensors and other seemingly non-related faults that can prevent the compressor clutch from operating.

Did you ever figure it out Mine is acting up to AC intermittently quit blowing cold after a few hours something is cutting the power to the ac clutch sometimes tuning the recirc off makes it start sometimes have to let it sit awhile mostly only dose it after an hour or more of non stop driving all the pressures look good
