on the 11-16s it’s behind the glove box but you can only access the plug end to test it replacing sensor requires removing dash.

 

Thanks. I did open the glove box and I don't see any plug tail for the sensor like some youtube shown in the 11-16s. So I think ford has changed for the 17, 18 years.

Is this a guess? Do you have any codes, sensor data or diagnostics that lead you to this conclusion?

As mentioned, te sensor is mounted directly on the evaporator core. The instrument panel and the HVAC housing have to come out to access and replace it.

 

Yes. it's a guess. I don't have any code and I have not run any diagnostics tools to be sure sensor is bad. So, without opening up HVAC housing, there is no way to direct access the sensor wire in 18 truck? I do have instrument panel off completely...

 

There are other, more likely causes for your A/C concern than the evaporator core temperature sensor. Considering the difficulty of accessing the sensor I HIGHLY RECOMMEND getting assistance on this as far as diagnosing it. Diagnosing requires a scan tool, the ability to read PCM and HVAC module inputs along with sensors and other seemingly non-related faults that can prevent the compressor clutch from operating.

 

Did you ever figure it out Mine is acting up to AC intermittently quit blowing cold after a few hours something is cutting the power to the ac clutch sometimes tuning the recirc off makes it start sometimes have to let it sit awhile mostly only dose it after an hour or more of non stop driving all the pressures look good
