I am newly registered, but have been scouring this forum for a few weeks trying to resolve my problem. I have found several related scenarios, but I have tried about everything I have found. Any assistance or ideas is appreciated.

I have a 2016 F-250 (complete delete) with just over 52,000 on the odometer. I changed the oil and fuel filters two weeks ago, I drove the truck about 1.5 miles and parked it at my house. The next day the low fuel pressure warning came on when I started it and I have a P01C6 (fuel pressure sensor A circuit high). No issues starting the truck, no CEL, and it seems to run fine…..but I only drove it a short distance hoping the light would go off.
The lift pump sounded like it had air in it (gurgling noise), so here is what I have done so far:
  • changed out both filters again….and the lower/frame mounted filter housing is 100% on all of the way.
  • replaced the lift pump; it came with a new housing and fuel filter (factory sealed)
  • purged the fuel line at least a dozen separate times, to include connecting a hose to secondary filter in attempt to push the air out
  • I have unconnected and reconnected all of the fuel lines, everything is on tight and not leaking fuel
  • I have never used additives, so there shouldn’t be any foil/cardboard in my tank
  • I clear the code and it immediately comes back

I have ruled out a sensor since I can hear the gurgling in the lift pump. This has never occurred prior to me changing the fuel filters so I’m assuming it is somehow related, but I replaced everything at least once. The low fuel pressure warning, P01C6 code, gurgling from the lift pump are all still occurring and I’m at a loss.
I am hoping someone has had a similar experience or can point me in the right direction.

P01C6 is a circuit code for the sensor or the wiring. Air and low fuel pressure is not going to set that code. I suspect you have two separate issues here. It is possible that you disturbed or damaged something when replacing the secondary filter on the engine.

The fuel pressure/temperature sensor is located right in front of the fuel filter. Just sayin.

Following up and closing this one out. Thanks to FordDoctor, the sensor was the reason for the Low Fuel Pressure warning and P01C6 code. The obnoxious “gurgling” sound from the lift pump is still occurring, no matter how much I try to purge the system. However, the truck runs good and there are no codes or CEL, so I have to assume it’s normal. The two issues weren’t related, I just assumed that they were since they occurred simultaneously. I appreciate all of the feedback on this.
