2008 King Ranch Seats into 2004 XLT

Has anyone done this swap? I picked up a nice set out of a wrecked 2008 and have bolted them in along with the console. I have the door panels as well but I am positive I'm going to have issues with the factory connectors being different. Same goes for the seats, my OE seats didn't have power but the connector is under the seat but is a different one than what's on the seats.

Any suggestions or thoughts?

You will have to create a wire harness of sorts. Depending on if you want the heated seats to work or not will dictate how much you will have to create.

I added power to my seats and it was just trial and error. It has been nearly a decade so I don't recall what wires did what, and mine were from an 06. Find the grounds and the rest is cake.

Ill be doing this same thing buying some 08 KR seats and putting them in my 06 xlt. I do already have powered seats but Im thinking the memory seat in the 08 might have some issues. anyone ever done this? The heated seat will probably take time to figure out but could always just put it on an upfitter switch. Any input on the swap would be greatly appreciated.

I am doing a pretty close swap to this in my truck, it's a 2005 F250 crewcab Lariat and I'm putting 2008 Kingranch seats and door panels in it. I have the door panels finished and will be diving into the seats in a week or so. I also have plug pin outs if someone needs them.<img src="http://www.powerstroke.org/forum/images/smilies/thumb[1].gif" border="0" alt="" title="Thumbs Up" class="inlineimg" />

So I'm moving along with this swap. Got the door panels done and swapping out the side trim and kick panels. Noticed the side panels are different at the top and front middle kick panels are slightly different, but can make them work. Does anyone know if the headliners are interchangeable as far as putting the 2008 inside my 2006? Given both are the same, no overhead console or sunroof.

Hey I’ve got an 05 f250 that I’m looking to do the same swap of all the interior. Could you shed some light on any problems that came up if any? Also I’m still looking around for the interior that I want to go with. Hopefully I’ll find a wrecked one when I’m ready to do this!

I'm about finished with mine. Late 2005 crewcab lariat with 2008 king ranch seats, all trim, door panels, headliner, rear window. I had a guy rewire my seats and eliminate the memory function. All I had to do was run 12 volt ignition hot for the seats and all power and heat functions work. He charged me 550 bucks to do it. Well worth it if you look under the seats at the wiring. I reused my dash since the tan from lariat to king ranch is the same or close enough I couldn't tell a difference.

Nice! That definitely looks much cleaner than my 05 interior. I looked up that dash adaptor kit to swap in a 08 dash too. McNasty Customz I think it was like $150 and he’s got a pretty well detailed video for the install.

Where did you find the interior for yours and how much did it set you back?

I really like the 2005 Lariat dash compared to the 2008 dash. I paid 2000k for all my interior and a kingranch tailgate. I had to find a headliner and rear window. The truck I got the interior from had a sunroof and mine doesn't. I also switched to the 2008 rear window that glues in compared to the 2005 window with a gasket. If you use the 2005 rear window with the 2008 side trim pieces there is an 1" or so gap where the trim meets the rear window.
