I recently purchased a used 2008 F250 SD. I have a rattle coming from under the dash. I have removed the dash and still can not locate the rattle. Thought it might have been the blender doors but the deeper I get the more it sounds almost like a thin sheet metal vibration. It appears to be under or behind where the cup holders would be located. Does anyone have any ideas? I'm about to pull my hair out and don't have that much left to pull.

My 08 had a squeak in dash when i bought it used, finally found it was a loose screw all the way up from underneath and at windshield but finally found and fixd it. Know what u mean drive ya CRAZY. Good luck.

Thanks. I love the way this truck drives and rides. The power handles our cattle trailer with ease but this rattle has got to go. Anyone know if there are any shields behind the firewall that can rattle and maybe transfer the noise thru to the cab. I had a 99 with a 7.3 that was also a really good pulling truck. No rattles but the 7.3 may have been loud enough to cover up any rattles.

FOUND THE RATTLE

I THINK I have FOUND it. Got a friend to nose around under hood and under truck while I rev the motor enough to make the noise. He moved the pipe that goes down from the top and it stopped. From underneath looking up on the passenger, the pipe has a bend as it turns to go back. right above the bend it rubs the the inside of the frame. We put a wooden paint stir stick between the pipe and frame. I drove it about a mile or so and never heard the rattle. I took out the wood because of fire hazard. I'm going to find a heat rest. material to replace. Can't be very thick maybe 1/8" inch. Any ideas?

Do you have a picture of that or can you take one.
I have the same rattle and it drives me crazy.
Or do you know what this pipe with a bend in it goes to?
