Hello, folks! I'm new to the forum and I am hoping I can find answers to my problem.
We purchased a 2005 Ford F350 6.0L . Lariat (Super-Duty Turbo Diesel )a couple months ago, and have been having very aggravating issues with the power steering. The pressure hose from going from the hydro boost to the power steering was leaking. We changed that hose, but still had the same P/S problems. Decided to change the P/S pump, with a cardone pump. Same thing is still happening. Can't seem to be able to properly bleed the system\, no matter what we do. It works fine when reving the engine, but the steering wheel is really, really stiff a low speeds, like when trying to park. Yesterday, we discovered that when trying to bleed, we can feel weird air bubbles in the lines leading to the ABS module, but nothing in the P/S lines. Can't figure this one out for the life of us. Why would air in the ABS system be affecting the P/S??? Diesel engines are totally new to us, something we've never worked on before. Could somebody please enlighten us about the issue. Is there something we are missing, something we don't understand about the system?? It seems to be like the steering binds up, but not all the time. Sometimes it acts normal and free, sometimes it seems to jam up?? There are no regular power steering noises like in a regular gasoline vehicle, no whine or anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!!!
