i just developed an extremely bad pedestool and HPOP line leak i was wondering if there is any important steps to replacing these, like do I need to prefill the turbo and the pedestool with oil before putting them back on or will it purge the air on its own?

I'm replacing it 8/8/23 which is tomorrow so sorry for the last minute questions I just haven't been able to find anything online about it, Thanks in advance yall are usually really fast and helpful

Assuming you are just reusing your existing turbo? No need to prefill/prime them, the oil will get to up into the turbo bearings right away upon cranking/running.

Are you doing a evpv delete or has that already been done? Keeping the stock setup? All good questions since you're tearing into.

Make sure you thread the turbo to pedestal bolts in by hand, then tighten each a little at a time to seat the oring correctly and not to put stress on the turbo center housing. A shop from the previous owner of my 99 did some work and cracked the center housing near the bolt hole and cross threaded the rear turbo to pedestal bolt likely because they didn't take their time. It caused a leak that was not fixable without rebuilding the turbo and replacing the pedestal.

Be patient and get everything to fit up just right to avoid exhaust leaks, poorly seated gaskets and oring, etc. You'll pay in the end for hasty work.
