2001 Excursion headlight switch with Fog lights

I'm sure I'm not the first one to have this problem. I need to replace my headlight switch in my 2001 excursion limite with fog lights. Apparently the part has been discontinued.
Has anyone tried using the switch for a 2002 year model? Motorcraft SW5996

I know my 2001 doesn't have automatic headlights but will the other functions work?

i have always wondered about that, the auto has a sensor that i am sure that you could install, not sure about the plug on the back though, the 02 switch will run the fogs all the time if pulled out and if the running lights are on, my 01 will only run them with the headlights and no other time.

my internet is kinda **** but I thought i saw an 01 switch on ebay the other day for under 20 bucks :dunno:
might be worth a look

These in an 01 excursion in the junk yard here. I could see if it has a switch if you want
