My battery light will not go off on my 7.3. The batterys are brand new, the alternator charges fine and all fuses are good. Has anyone had this problem and could help me get it shut off thanks.

Clean the alternator sensors out really well and plug back in..sometimes it could be that....I have the same thing only my battery light stays on when I click over to start the truck..Once truck is started it goes away instantly.......My batteries are a year old with the alternator..Never any problems..You can also check with DC volt meter to just make sure.

I was gunna say the same thing. Grab a volt meter and check to make sure you have good voltage. Check the battery's after its been sitting over night. And check the voltage from the alternator when the truck is running. Healthy alternator will put out 13.5 to 15 volts. Mine currently puts out 14.5.

Alternators are iffy if you dont go brand new and I have had to replace 3 in a row before due to getting junk rebuilds. I now run brand new only. Not worth the headache.

If both check out then start cleaning all contacts.

Normally a battery light indicates a problem with the alternator. Even if it is working and putting out voltage, it could still be bad. This happened to me, and if you let it go, it will take out your batteries.

Get the alternator tested at an auto parts store. I bet it is a diode or voltage regulator problem.

I've seen a few times where the Alternator cradle was dirty and it wasn't grounding good, causing a light to come on
