2000 7.3 battery cables

Sometimes it's just easier to buy instead of make.

First you have to source quality parts and get your measurements.
Buy a good hydraulic crimper and or solder the cables into the ends,
Don't forget the appropriate colored and sized heat shrink.
It all adds up and is time consuming.

If I like what I'm buying and the labor isn't terrible, I'm happy to pay someone for their trouble.
On the 6.5's I made some of my stuff because I liked an on/off switch as opposed to what was offered on certain harnesses.
I also prefer mountable relay sockets as opposed to mountable relays. One extra part, but much easier to swap out a relay if need be.

yeah i'm not going to attempt to make it due to time constraints. just wanted to know if that was still the go to cable guy. on the 6.5 forum there is one specific guy they all buy from but doesn't seem to be an answer here on that type of person.
Bruce - race day mechanic on the 6.5 forums has pretty much retired. I think John Faddis offers good battery cables

The Ford forums have never seemed as good about sharing the good advice provided on the GM diesel pages.

I usually have really good luck on f150forum.com, but that's all half ton based. I ordered the cables from custom battery cables. they were top notch. even put tags on each end of the cables telling you exactly where they go. will use them again as needed. fixed the problem as expected.
Did you get any pics of the cables?
What size were they?
One of the first things I thought when I popped the hood at the dealership was "Typical junk undersized battery cables"
I"LL be looking for new cables for the 2016 eventually. I have the stuff here to make 3/0. But sometimes it's just easier and faster to buy. Not like I didn't buy the cable, crimpers and ends. I'm getting low on some ends, need to do inventory and place an order.

I have comparison pics but don't know how much good that would do you for your 2016 model vs the 2000 i was working on. I can figure out how to post them if you think they will help. I'm sure you can call them about making you some for the 2016. Per their website, they're a small american business which is a must for my purchases. They seem pretty flexible in answering questions and helping out with any issues.

I don't know how you would have crimped on post clamps on the passenger side where the crossover cable and the starter cable meet up and not greatly increased install process. I prefer the setup they use as it allowed me to rotate the connection point any direction i wanted to best line up with my cables. Kit comes with a smaller wire connection tab as well that let me hook up items like our cow feeder if this main terminal was too big.
I'll just have to call and order when I'm able to install.
I too appreciate supporting small business. I also know I can spend the time sourcing materials. Figuring everything out and making the cables here.
But I don't mind paying someone to do all that. Many times it's easier and faster to buy a good quality kit.
Especially when you have very limited time available.

i also want to plug powermaster alternators. Another american business that has been fantastic help with a replacement on my 78 t/a. Will be watching the voltage across the 2 batteries now and kicking around getting one of their alternators if i have any issues from the corroded cables putting a strain on it.
How are the Ford starters for the 6.7's?

Is there a Powermaster upgrade?

The starter on the 2016 was replaced last year at about 60,000 miles.
This gives me the bug to improve the cables and very possibly the starter.

On the old GM 6.5 and 6.2's the Powermaster starter is the way to go.
