I have been back and forth between this forum and my truck. I got coolant leaking on top of the motor. It puddles up under the turbo and then leaks down the side and drips off of the starter. I have an egr delete and I have checked both the blue hose and the o ring on the egr delete and the coolant is not leaking from there. Where else could coolant leak from and puddle up on top of the motor??? I cant tell if the coolant puddles on the driver side. But it does on the pass. .
I noticed a slight leak weeks ago but it almost seemed to go away. I maintained the proper coolant level but it started leaking worse yesterday after a 7 hr drive. I added coolant while it was running then I shut it off. It leaked over a gallon out. With none in the d-gas bottle. This morning I put that gallon back in to see if it only leaked after it was hot and under pressure. ..... or if it would leak out after the truck sat over night. .. and yes it leaks soon as I added it back in...

ANY IDEAS??!!! once I can start taking things apart I will have more info..

The spot I'm talking about isn't very clear in this photo. But you can just see the outside edge of the oring where the arrow is pointing View attachment 669529

Thanks for the pic. Yeah I believe that's where it's leaking also. I will be tearing it down tomorrow and will check it out

Check ur heater control valve, I’d replace that turbo feed line to with the updated one

Thanks for the direct link. It doesn't seem like it's leaking from there either. What's the difference in the updated one? ?

Okay so I took the fan shroud out and pulled the fan back from the front cover, and moved the belt out of the way to see if I can see where coolant has been leaking. I looked as best as I could to see the large oring where the coolant feeds into the intake, and I couldn't make out any sure sign that it was...... so I put everything back together.
My next step is to use one of two methods which I would like yalls advice of which one!!
1. The dye that you put in your coolant along with the light to locate where it's coming from.
-- my concerns with that is.. is it safe for the oil cooler? I'm sure it is but I want to know for sure. Will I even be able to locate where its starting from any better?? Will I be able to see it in mid day out in the open?
2. The radiator and cap leak detection system. It pressures the system up so hopefully I can hear a hiss and locate it.
--my concerns it will hiss out so quick I can't hear it. I won't be able to pinpoint exactly where it's coming from??

Any ideas or suggestions? ???! Please help. I need my truck back on the road and this coolant leak is bad. Thanks alot!

Okay so I got both kits to try and see if I can find the leak.... and I found it without them... I used the air compressor to blow the coolant off the top of the motor and get it dry. Then I added some coolant back and seen it flowing from the front to the back. It was flowing from the donut oring under the intake manifold. So that's got to be where my leak is!! Unless the intake has a crack in it...... has anyone experienced cracks In the coolant passages in the intake?? Or the front cover????
I never ran it hot...

Okay so the update is, I replaced the oring between the intake and the front cover.......... it's still leaking, the old oring did not look bad. I think the front cover must be cracked right by the oring somewhere. . Anyone had any similar issues? I'm still working on it...

That sucks, when I had my repair shop I would use a rad pressure tester which is just a hand pump to pressure up the coolant system from there you had time to clean an suspected area with a rag and watch were the leak was. I have also used a bicycle pump with a few mods. I don't recall any cracked intakes but there is always a chance of that. Maybe someone else has an idea. Also remember not to go over the cap pressure which I think is 16 lbs.

I found the culprit! Not sure how this happened or why it happened but it's leaking from the oil cooler housing... squirting out right at the oring between intake and front cover. I got a video I can try and upload but you got to pay close attention and you can see it right above the fuel line. I will also post pics from another motor of the location so yall can see.

I'd like to know what you do to fix it.

Not sure what I'd do if that was me. I remember it being an odd size O-Ring, kind of oval, narrower at one end, and not sold individually. Maybe a used oil cooler?

I missed the part where you said the pics are from another engine.
