Air Filter Dummy Gauge

Does it work? I've got about 30k on the motor and the original air filter and the gauge has never even budged. I pulled the gauge and ran a vacuum check and it is operating correctly. Could there be a leak in the air box causing no vacuum to register or should I believe that after 30k, the filter is "good as new"?

More than likely, its fine... My 2011C&C truck never moves the filter restriction gauge either...
FWIW, the filter minder on my 06 Dodge will pull in to the red every time I get above 30 psi of boost.... Even with a brand new filter installed.

thanks poormanscat.

any idea how long these filters should last? i guess because of the gauge, they don't list them in the maintenance schedule.

Im sure you will get many opinions on this matter, but IMHO, an air filter is ok up to the point where it restricts enough airflow to cause power loss or fuel mileage drop... filter actually filter better when dirty vs clean..
If you are only driving on highway, theres no telling how long your filter can actually go..
