I always pour a little oil in the supply hole just to make sure it is primed. I don't want to ruin my turbo:thumb:

I figured it would be a pretty good idea. I'll get it all installed and put some in before I hook up the supply line and start it for the 1st time. Thanks. :thumb:

Don't wanna hyjack the thread but I got an 03 turbo to put on my truck...can I use the oil supply line and drain tube from my 06 turbo?...should I replace any seals when I instLl the turbo?

 

I used the original oil supply line and drain tube but apparently there is an upgraded one that you can get. There is also a turbo hardware kit that cost like 8 bucks that comes with the gaskets bolts etc....

 

I to am getting ready to install an 03 turbo and like Gforce33 said i ordered a new turbo hardware kit and it was only 10 bucks so to me its def worth it to replace all the gaskets etc.

 

yea using 06 pedistal...dont feel like spending another $120 for that when i hear you can bolt it on the 06 pedistal...anyone have any info how to clean or take it apart and clean it?

 

I am not sure if you have an egr delete done, but if you do and have a solid up pipe, that will help for stability without having the third bolt. I did mine with the 05 pedestal and so far things have been fine.....

YES.. It supposed to come with a paper telling you to. Basically all it says:

1) Pour oil into the oil "in" and spin it until it goes down, repeat until full.
2) Don't "get on it" for the first 2-3min of run time..

 

The drain tube in the 05+ trucks is the updated one but I would definately buy the updated oil feed tube. I found a brand new one on ebay for $70. I would also invest in the 03 pedestal. If it's worth doing, it's worth doing it right the 1st time.
