I started my 2003 X this afternoon and climate control screen was blank and nothing works. Fuse is okay. Is there anything else I can check? Thanks

That happened to my truck once, but i shut it off, and started it and its worked ever since. Is yours not working all the time?

this is a fairly common problem on Excursions(maybe trucks too) that have the auto headlight feature and EATC..it doesn't happen often and the "cycle headlight switch" trick clears it every time..

i know back in the day someone had figured exactly why the relay gets hung up, but i've forgotten now..regardless, nothing is really broken and it's just a little quirk to have to deal with..

I've had the same issue intermittently. I've never heard the "cycle headlight switch" trick. I'll have to try it.
Thanks!

mine did it twice..1st time it came on 2 days later on it's own. the last time was last weekend and i thought if i turned the lights on maybe it would power up since there were no lights..and it has been working since.and i thought of it on my own..wow LOL not bad for a dumbazz lol

Mine does that crap, but only when it is hotter than the pits of HE!! inside the truck. I gotta try the headlight deal now. I usually turn the key on and off till the climate control works again, but with how high diesel is, that is an expensive fix....

That happened to me once, about a year ago and self fixed has not occured since. I'll keep the headlamp on -off trick in my back pocket. On trucks with automatic headlamps they have a sunload sensor that's also is an input to the HVAC, so it kinda makes sense that it could be related.

Mine has done it twice in 8 months and both times it has reset itself after restarting the truck. I haven't had a chance to try the light switch trick. Have heard of that in multiple forums. Gotta remember to remember that next time it happens.

My Superduty does it about once a year, at first I would just shut the truck off and restart it to fix it, but then I heard about switching the headlights between auto and off so I tried that the last time and it worked instantly!

Mine hasn't done it yet in 2009 so I figure it is due any time now.:(
