Broke Bully Aluminum Step

Just thought I would share this with anyone thinking about using these on their trucks. I put a pair on mine after I put the lift on as the stock running boards weren't low enough. Well today while going to get into my truck it snapped off, breaking right at the top. These are the one piece cast aluminum steps.

I had the Carr steps on my '04 F350 and had no issues for the three years they were on that truck. Unfortunately the local places stopped carrying Carr products and only had the Bully stuff. I won't make that mistake again.

I think I would contact the manufacturer, and let them know. There is a certian amount of liability behind those type of products(like office chairs), especially if you are hurt. You might check the weight rating before contacting them though.

A couple of years ago I worked for a company in the parts business and tried getting ahold of them for other reasons and never had any luck. Thier customer service is pretty much non-existant. I don't have any of the paper work from them and I couldn't find anything online in regards to a weight limit. There is nothing on the box either as I went to a place that carried thier stuff. I wouldn't want replacements as I wouldn't trust them. I ordered the Carr steps and should have them next week.

Other than a cut/bruise on my knee and a torn pair of dress pants I'm fine. Hopefully anyone else doesn't make the mistake of buying the Bully steps.

I got ahold of an email address and sent them a letter along with some pictures to see what they might offer me. I'd be perfectly happy with a simple refund if I could get one.

On a side note my new steps are holding up just fine.
