I am pretty sure i have a PCM out of an automatic truck in my manual truck. Its a 2000 7.3L throwin codes only for a manual tranny. Like shift solenoid A shift solenoid B torque converter solenoid. So my question is WHY would anyone put an automatic pcm in a manual truck? How does it even run correctly? And if i want to put a manual pcm back in the truck where do i get one and does it need to be the year 2000 sepcific or do i need to get the dealership to flash one specific to my truck? So many questions any answers or thoughts would be greatly appreciated! Also how much are pcm's usually?

Its on the PCM on a sticker.

Auto PCM on a manual truck wont hurt a thing though

Ok so here we go there were 4 number/letter combinations on the sticker. It reads:
XC37-AG NPEF
XPC4 006022

The only reason im asking is because when i installed the programmer it wanted to "shift" gears like an automatic would. In every gear it would get to about 3000rpms then start declining in rpm even when my foot was still in the throttle. It would kind of fall on its face and lose power like it was trying to shif to the next gear!? It was odd...

Should be a 4 digit code like xle4, nvk5, pmt1, there are many others but all should be three letters and a number.

if you remove it, what will you do with the auto pcm?

Ok well some other member on here told me it sounded like i had an automatic pcm in my manual truck becuase when i installed the diablo predator it threw codes at me for an auto tranny like shift solenoid A shift solenoid B and torque converter solenoid. So i thought why would it throw those codes if my truck doesnt even have that stuff? And also the water in fuel like came on and after i cleared all codes it stays on now and seems like i dont have full power like i used to?! Im really confused and there is no diesel shop within two hours of me or i would take it to someone ASAP!

I would drain and replace fuel filter asap. Water in fuel is bad and can cause big dollar repairs. That will cause the lack of power. As far as the codes I don't know. Maybe try a different scanner. Xpc4 is for a manual though. It is possible someone could have reflashed it but it should have a new sticker on it then. A good scanner would tell you that too.
