Check 4X4 Light, No 4wd, Tcase Motor?

OK guys, I'm having some 4WD issues. When I turn the selector I instantly get the "check 4x4 light" and of course, no 4wd. The locking diff works so I don't think it's the selector itself.

I'm just curious as to what the voltage to the 2 pin Tcase motor should be? When I checked it yesterday it was reading 5.3 Volts. When I checked the 6 pin connection it was getting around 11.8 volts.

Any thoughts? Also, when I unplugged the 6 pin connector the 4x4 low light came on and the hubs locked in?? guessing one of those pins is normally open and when I unplugged it it closed and locked the hubs.

thanks

Mike

I would say the T-case motor died. I know thats what happened once in my 6.4 but at 165K.

since someone has a 4x4 issue, I want to hook on and see if someones heard this.
My 2011 is having a 4x4 low issue. 4x4 high works great and so does the rear locker. I can put the truck in N and go into 4x4 low just fine but when i go to put it back to 4x4 high or 4x2 you can hear a loud grinding, the only way to get it back out is to coast the truck in N while turning nob. It was scary and done this twice, I just don't use 4x4 low right now. Any thoughts ?

Only way to shift in and out of 4X$ Low is in Neutral. If you were doing this, maybe the computer is not getting the signal when you move the switch.

G.E.M Module - P/N place to buy?

So my 4x4 is acting up. Check fuses, nothing. Changed motor, nothing. Talked to a mechanic and said it could possibly be the GEM module under the dash.

Thoughts?

Anyone know a part number or place to buy one?

Thanks in advance.

2014 f250 122,000 miles. Had the same problem. No 4x4 at all. As soon as I switched to 4 hi, the check 4x4 and wrench came on dash. Checked fuses, all Ok. Ended up removing entire shifter module from the transfer case. (3 10mm bolts). Put power to it and watched it move. Reversed power flow a couple of times so that it moved back and forth. Also shifted the transfer case manually a couple times to ensure it was free. Plugged it back in prior to reinstallation and immediately the truck began the 4x4 shift process. Reinstalled the shifter on the transfer case and everything was operating as it should. Problem solved. Wrench light went away so it doesn't appear there are any codes to reset. It appears the shift motor was stuck and just needed to be freed. Truck was bought in Mass but spent most of it's life in Florida (now back in Mass) and so the 4 wheel drive probably saw very little use.
