My dept placed an order for a new 09 Custom KME Pumper to be our new frontline piece. Our current piece is a 2000 Pierce Quantum, and she is big, a little too big for some of the streets and residences. When you are going to a call, and you have to do a 3 point turn to get onto a street or pull into a driveway, it doesn't look good for the dept. So we have been fighting the town for 3 yrs trying to replace our frontline piece, and finally decided to get rid of our '79 Pierce for the new KME. Our Quantum is 10ft high and 38 ft long. The KME is going to be 8Ft X 36Ft, so its a bit more managable, and better turning radius. Going to have a CAFS setup, 2000GPM pump. 2000ft of 5" supply, Full Whelen light package, 525HP CAT, Fully equiped from KME, 6 person Cab w/ driver, and a bunch of other stuff. To be delivered in July, just in time to be put in our new station. Get some pics of it when we get it. If you guys want to see the other pieces you can check them out on our website: The Great Barrington Fire Department - Apparatus

When I use to do fire extinguishers, the local air base was one of my customers. The Airman in charge of the extinguishers took me to the sub station and let me drive a crash truck like the bottom picture. What a rush. :)

In the aftermath of 9-11 I attended over 100 funerals, twice I went to 3 in one day and several times 2 in a day.

My Truck had the honor of flag duty for one of the Brothers KIA.

This Truck was long enough ago that I don't remember the year.
Oshkosh Pierce 85' Snorkle. This picture is from 94 and I think the truck was a 78. At the time I was only a fill in for the truck, This was fun, exciting and down right scary at times.
