Looking to buy a diesel within the next few months. So i'd like to get some ideas on what is availible.Also trying to keep the price under 6k. What i'm looking for is:

-1989-1997
-Any thing but a crew cab
-SRW (may consider duallys though)
-Auto
-4wd
-Decent shape so that i can drive it practically the day i get it. I don't mind some work because it gives me something to do in my free time, but im trying to avoid lots of rust.

10.25" rear 90k miles
'97 trans 93k shifts great
'97 turbo, fuel system, etc..93k perfect condition
'97 Alcoas 93k miles with Toyo A/T's 10-15 k left? front caps no rear caps
shocks aprox 10k
4" exhaust system 150k still good shape
'97 40-20-40 front seat Grey..looking at dying it blue or recovering it?
ATS IC repaired but holds air
clear headlights, harness and bulbs
Cold AC
203* stat..10k
New belt 0 miles

I still need to swap from the '97 into the '95:
Trans, inj, turbo, fuel system etc

Will have a '95 HPOP so no drain back issues .

No body rust..CA truck all but 10k miles, some very minor dents on right side bed in front of wheel well not very noticeable at first glance gota love white. Typical surface rust only on frame seen in pictures.

Im aware,88-94 have the 7.3 but aint turboed. mainly put that b/c i want a 7.3 but may consider an older 6.9. Thanks though.

There is a whole lot more than turbo or non-turbo different between them.
Total volume equaling 7.3 liters is about the only thing similar between the 95-97 powerstrokes and the older Ford 7.3’s, My Grandpa has a 91 or 92 F-350 7.3 5 speed with around 60K miles and that thing is weak, my truck stock would run/pull circles around it and gets better mileage doing it. The old injector pump driven 7.3’s were good but they don’t compare to a powerstroke.

i have a 97 ford ext. cab 4x4 long bed automatic and has rust around the fender wells on the bed it is a the heavy duty 3/4 ton truck with an extra leaf front and back with lock out hubs it has bucket seats in the front and bench in the back and is driven daily to pull trailers it has 238000 miles on it and runs great we used 2 have 3 of them but goin newer and to a standard shift dually so dont really need but i love the truck and it has detriot lockers front and back in it with 373 gears everything works on it and i have the factory sticker 4 it

Sounds like a nice truck, but 6500 is my absolute max, i already got 2 jobs, and go to school full time, so i cant swing much more then that. thanks though.
