Where is everyone mounting their Edge Insight CTS monitors?

Think I'm gonna go ahead and order the Insight CTS for my truck. I'll probably do the A-pillar mount, but curious to see where everyone else is mounting theirs.

Outsmarted myself on the first try.....Here are some better pics....Don't have it hard mounted in box. I have the wire zip tied and the unit is sitting on it. Very stable. Does not move around at all. Does not slide back and forth. The cord hold it in place nicely. Very easy to move to dash if needed.

Some piece of $#%^ broke in and stole my GPS a few months ago. I had the CTS right next to it on the window mount, but they didn't take it. After that, it went into the box!!

I ordered a dash pod #18301 to mount a CTS in my 03 Excursion. I didn't like the way it sat over my wood dash overlay above the left A/C register, so I cut it down to sit on top of the dash just to the right of the grab-handle. Also due to my dash overlay, the CTS would not fit the pod in the intended location below the grab-handle. The best I could do by reshaping the bottom of the pod left a small gap on either side and the CTS is leaning back a bit more than I would like. It would be better if I were taller. :hehe: But, by relocating the pod I was able to turn it more towards me. I think it will look much better once I paint it to match the dash.

I have just purchased one. Don't like the dash mount. I was thinking of putting it in the ashtray. I like the way Greg has his in there. I thought I would try to fab up a bracket to set it out a little but still be able to close everthing up. I ordered the adapter and plan on drilling and mounting this to a custom bracket. I'll see how things works out once I get it in.

yea i had the same thing happen truck broke into and they stole my gps and sat radio they tried to steal my edge with attitude but the cord was to thick for them to rip lol. I say one thing the edge is a tough sob looked like they jerked on it several times. When i woke up to go to work i found it hanging out of my broken window!!! If i ever catch someone stealing crap out my truck i will put a bullet in there head, truck was broke into 4 times that year and moved 3 of the times!!!

Mine just uses the garage door opener to wedge it into place so it doesnt move around.

I used a piece of 1/8" flat metal. I sheared it to the correct length and width. I bent a 90 degree bend up in the back. I cut out a place for the cables to come through after I make the up bend. I then bent a little over 90 degrees up in the front. I purchased a adapter to mount the cts in the factory mount. ( which I didn't buy ) . I drilled some holes in the adapter and metal plate. I screwed the adapter to the plate and snapped the cts to this. I mounted mine flush with the lip of the glove box. Mine wont close up. If you wanted to you could set it farther back or increase the up bend angle in the front. This would allow you to close the box. If you need a pic I'll try to post one here, or pm me your cell number and I'll send you one.

Any New thoughts/ Pictures? I would think as long as the CTS has been out someone would have come up with a cleaner mounting option. I am debating about just getting the CS due to the better mount.
