Posted this in the wrong place. Sorry if your seeing double!

Okay, I've read some info on wheels and want to ask a few q's.

Offset + will tuck a wheel under the truck further (according to multiple sources a + offset moves the mounting surface closer to the wheel face)

Offset - is essentially the opposite creating the deep dish wheel effect.

I have seen folks describe this offset in contradicting arguments.

What I want to know is as follows:

1. What offset are the stock 20" wheels. (I don't want the roller skate effect when I get new wheels and tires - mainly to protect my paint. When I was a younger man, I'm sure I would have had different preferences)

2. With a 2.5" Carli leveling kit and 35" tires (11" or 12" width), will a 10" wide wheel work with the right offset, or should I opt for a 8-5"-9" wheel????????

Thoughts or Suggestions???????

I am also looking at 18" wheels since I think a 35" tire gets a little more sidewall with them, softening the ride a bit more.

PS

This is my first Ford and I am now a GM Convert!!!!

You shouldn't have a problem with clearance issues, IMO I think it is best to go with the 18"s to give your self more sidewall as you said before, and yeah the 10" wheels will work just double check the fitting with the offset

How about the Stock 20" offset and Backspacing???

Any Idea????

I've seen +44 and -44.

I am assuming the proper offset here is positive since the mounting surface is closer to the wheel face.

Stock 20's have a +44 offset or 6" back spacing. and you got the basic idea of what offset is.

If I was you I would do a 9" wheel with a 0 offset or 5" bs with the lift and tire combo your looking at doing. Just for an idea of what that will look like this is my truck with a 20x9 with 0 offset and 35x12.50 toyo back when I was leveled.

Ideally, you're going to want a 17 or 18" Diameter wheel, no more than 9" wide and you should be looking anywhere from 5"-5.5" of backspacing depending on how much you want it the combo to stick out.

George at 8lug has 5" backspacing and they stick out a bit; Sage Carli has 5.5" and his are perfect and that's on a Toyo 37"x13.5" R17"
