I travel for a living & am currently stuck in Toronto, Canada. I've noticed how expensive things are here in the maple leaf country, & I've also noticed about 80% of fueling stations dispense biodiesel & E85. @ the jobsite I'm working, there is a gas station across the street that has biodiesel. They're paying almost $8/gal. here & I'm shocked. Most of the stores, resturaunts, etc. accept american money because they say it's the same. If american money's just as good as canadian, how come so expensive for biodiesel? One thing's for sure, though; it does make me feel better we're paying half of what our neighbors up north are. Kinda makes you NOT want to go to Oktoberfest, eh?:hehe:

Canada, eh? I have a good friend in Regina, Sask. He and I discuss fuel prices often. It seems to be a complicated formula to come up with a comparison. He has found a formula somewhere online that converts liters to gallons of course, but also factors in the difference in the exchange rate between the currencies. Has the $8 number been run thru this mill?:hehe:

I DID fail to realize I'm in a 'metric' country. I like the fact I can 'do 100' on highways legally:hehe: & not get busted. But still: $8 for less fuel...SUCKS!

Bio in Toronto? I've never seen any. Nor is E85 really common. I'm pretty sure the standard gas consists of up to 15% ethanol which isn't E85. E85 is 85% ethanol and 15 gas. Right now Diesel is about 1.44 a liter which is about 5.45 CAD per us gal.

Sure your in Toronto? What part?

Check out every suburb right outside Toronto. There wasn't one place I could find that didn't sell biodiesel or E85. Matter of fact, I'm going back there tomorrow to finish commisioning a machine. I'll take snaps of every station I see.

Oh, I know. I just think it's funny when your boss asks you how fast you're going and you say; "I'm doing 100!" Sometimes I wish in the U.S. you could say the same thing, but in mph & it was legal. :burnout

Ok...I was wrong about the E85, but I'm not wrong about the biodiesel. I checked out the gas stations where I thought I had seen the E85, but misinterpreted. The biodiesel, on the other hand, is most definitely being sold in Canada. The area I'm working in is Leslieville, & like I've said, the gas station across the street sells biodiesel & only biodiesel. The section I'm rooming @ is Brampton. The 3 gas stations I drive by to get back to my hotel sell biodiesel. I'm not saying all of Canada is biodiesel, but's it's alive & well here. The only time I haven't seen biodiesel used is when the company that purchased the drillrig I'm commisioning, filled it with off-road diesel.

Do they label it as biodeisel? Maybe I've been using bio forever not knowing it. Where are these stations your going to in Brampton? I'm ussually filling up in Vaughan at 427 and 7.

Canadian Bacon was pretty sweet.
